Re: prelude vs. tsi
You will win by 23 car lengths. However, just to make sure, better get some NAWZ.
Grow up....

Re: prelude vs. tsi
If you don't spin the tires off the line hell you know what..... Don't even race. Its not worth the 2.50 a gallon for you. I'll break it down for ya....
TSi launchs at 4500rpms:Prelude launchs at 8 thousend bee power....
TSi after spining the tires it leaps a car ahead to redline:Prelude still buzzing away at redline in first gear
TSi takes second and screams ahead a few more cars:Prelude finaly calms the bees down and makes it into second
TSi powers into third gear and is now breaking the 80 mph speed mark:Prelude gives up because the bee's could not give out that VTEC power....
There you will win. Unless you launch shitty and never ever recover from that.

Re: prelude vs. tsi
For a 2G, the Big-28 is a great choice since its a direct bolt-on and flows almost as much as a Big 16G while spooling slightly quicker.

Re: prelude vs. tsi
From a stand still, my stock Eclipse with mods listed below, took a N/A 427 running low 14's at the track, and i had him by two lengths. I KNOW for a fact, that truck will be quicker then the car your racing.
Do as i do in most races, take it easy in first(let the clutch last a little longer) and then in second give her hell. Nothing like watching the smile on someone's face in the rearview turn upside down as you fly by him.
Don't risk blowing anything, pussy it in first gear and take him in second... then decide how far ahead you want to beat him by.

Re: prelude vs. tsi
You would take him.
BTW, the buddy that I was talkin about only has a 2g stereo with a tape deck. He might be able to get his CD deck back though, however it would take a bit of work. If you wan the tape deck it is yours.

Re: prelude vs. tsi
I think the dsm should win if it is running correclty. Who knows what kind of shape this kids car is in. It could have boost leaks and not go over 5psi without a leak for all we know.

Re: prelude vs. tsi
I think it'll be a close race. I've driven one of those before, they arent too bad. Nothing like my DSM though , but mine wasnt stock either. I would almost say him unless you know what you are doing. I wouldn't launch at 4500 on a FWD, I would slip er out more like 3-3500, and hit 2nd good. As long as you dont sit and spin them you should be ok, nothing wrong with a chirp though.
Also, I would personally go with a Evo III 16g for my car but I am AWD, I know a couple guys with Evo III's on their FWD's. Yeah, they are cool but I hear they just hit too hard too early. I know a guy that recommends a 50 trim over the Evo III for FWD because of the longer spool and smoother power curve. I dont though man.

Re: prelude vs. tsi
Next time you make a thread like this, at least mention what kind of DSM you own.

Re: prelude vs. tsi
Get a $40 boost controller for your car and it won't even be a challenge! Turn the boost up to 15 psi and smoke him.

Re: prelude vs. tsi
I'd say it'll be a pretty close match.
If you was AWD I'd probably say you'd lose from a roll. But Since, you're FWD, it'll be better for you, considering both cars are stock and in good condition.
LOL, like Jet said, get a boost controller. Then you'll win for sure.
But man, 10 psi is pretty darn weak.

Re: prelude vs. tsi
My advice to you is quit playing around with the little boys driving their Preludes. Play with an S if you want to race a Honda
