Does anyone else hate having your car worked on?
I just want to stand right there while there working on it and tell them everything theyre doing wrong, and make sure theyre treating my baby nice. I dont trust grease monkeys.

Re: Does anyone else hate having your car worked on?
Only place my car has ever been besides my garage is the Honda dealership in Duluth whom I trust. Other than a few greasy fingerprints they were fine. I would not take my car to any JoeShmo Shop though, if I can't do it myself I'll either have a reputable dealership or respected shop do it.
As for my "beaters" or whatever, I could careless what place(s) works on it aslong as they warranty their work.

because its a transfer case recall. I dont think they'd take my word for it if i needed a new transfer case.

Re: Does anyone else hate having your car worked on?
I'd hate it if someone watched over my shoulder while I worked. For the most part I trust service techs. I guess I've never really had a bad experience besides the one time my Talon smelled like burning clutch...it was a good alignment though so I didn't really care.

I would tell you to help or leave. They could have sent you to the waiting room.

Re: Does anyone else hate having your car worked on?
I said i just WANT to. And if you can't perform your work while being watched then I wouldnt want you working on my car to begin with.

Re: Does anyone else hate having your car worked on?
It's so damn annoying when a customer is looking over your shoulder, while you work on their car. I would want to do that too, if I couldn't fix it myself. But thank God I kinda know whats going on with cars, and I work at a very respected repair shop. One nice perk is all the fancy equipment I have access to The real mechanics I work with amaze me with their VAST technical knowledge, and I personally would trust everyone there to work on my car, but F that, thats the fun part!

Re: Does anyone else hate having your car worked on?
Is that place on 55 the Goodyear store?
And I've had my quest worked on before, and although I didn't have a problem with the work done, the cost was outrageous. From now on, If I must take it somewhere, I'll get it diagnosed, then fix it myself.
