I have the 4gb 360, the HDD is almost full from the update that Battlefield 3 put out 2 weeks ago. I know somewhere they have pre-formatted USB drives for the 360. I'm assuming they cost 5 times more than their non-microsoft branded counterpart, I also don't know if you can plug in a standard flash drive or external HD.
My Vote is for the 360
