Evo X Head > Evo 9 Head > Evo 8 Head > 2G DSM Head > 1G DSM Head. So those of us with DSM heads have to do a bit more work to get them to keep making power at high RPMs. The typical aftermarket cams for a DSM are comparable to what came stock on the Evos. To run the lift that a lot of the Evo 8/9/X cams have requires actually modding the DSM heads more than normal because the retainers can hit the valve seals. The damn stock intake manifold on the Evo X looks almost like an aftermarket piece compared to what came on most cars.
