It's here!!!
Well, after 2 months of waiting, my bike finally arrived! Nash dropped me off to pick it up and this thing is bad ass! It is extremely stable and the low end grunt is amazing. I had it up to 9k rpm once (13.5k redline) in 2nd gear and the front end started coming up at 85 mph They have been making ~160 whp & 82 ft/lbs of torque and weigh about 405 lbs with 1/4 tank of gas.
I am actually amazed with the bike. It is much more docile than I was thinking it would be. The powerband is so smooth, it is amazing. I had a VERY hard time keeping it under 100mph. The speedo is so far down (because the bike is so small) that I wasn't watching it at first. I thought I was doing 60 and I look down to see the speedo passing 105 mph. Here are some pics before I waxed it, it is even shinier now!

Nice!!!!!!!!!!
First thing to go would be that ugly muffler! What were they thinking when they put that thing on there?!?!?!?!
Hopefully I will be able to get mine at the beginning of next week. Has Nash found one yet?

Re: It's here!!!
Nope, Nash spent his money on his car. He may start looking again if he gets the OT he thinks he might get.
The muffler really isn't that bad. The bike is so short that you look at it from the top and it is much thinner from that view. The things sounds pretty damn good too. I don't know if I want a loud pipe on there. It draws unneeded attention from the po-po!
Thanks Bode, I am pumped!!

Very Nice I was riding the R6 when I was up at my parents place in April for the week.
Man I miss it!
I definetely agree on the muffler but I figure they propably figure most people are going to go custom anyways

9K on a brand new engine? Damn, Suzuki must have different break in procedures for Yamaha, Kawi, and Aprillia (sp?).

Re: It's here!!!
Of course, at least it doesn't look like this muffler.

Re: It's here!!!
Yea that break in procedure sure is different...
Anyway sweet bike!! The thing about a quiet bike though, is that people cant hear you.. and when most people dont look for mikes anyway, loudness can be good. Thats why harleys are so safe haha.

Re: It's here!!!
That one time to 9k was the only time I took it over 7k, and I didn't realize it was that high until I looked down (merging onto the interstate). I am not doing a light break-in though. The cylinders on modern motorcycles aren't like a car cylinder. They are plated on the inside with a special coating. This coating is extremely smooth and doesn't allow for good ring sealing if broken in too easily.
I have been doing a lot of hard pulls up to ~7k and then engine braking back down to 3k rpm. This method has gained a lot of popularity in the last couple of years:

Their site is down right now, hopefully that works.

Re: It's here!!!
Nice bike My guess is there won't be a whole lot to gain with a new exhaust system since these bikes are coming so worked over straight from the factory. JET, any proven gains with a different exhaust system yet?

Re: It's here!!!
3-4 whp from a slipon, and 7 - 10 whp from a full system. Add another 2-4 whp from a custom map. I have seen a dyno chart from a bike with a full system and map putting out 174 whp, all dyno's vary, blah, blah, blah.....
