Well I just bought my first TSI AWD today. Iam very happy, and wish there was NO snow on the ground. Question, How can I tell if my '93 TSI AWD has a 4,6 bolt?

Thankyou all. Ryan.

Congrats!!!

I believe the 6bolt/4 bolt combo was done after march of 92 (correct me if I'm wrong). Check on the inside of your driver's door. There should be a blue plate affixed there that has the month and year of manufacture. It will have a 4 bolt rear end but it should have the 1st generation of the 7 bolt engine.

All 92.5's and up had 7-bolt motors. (Production after April of 92)

I 'think' most 92-94's had 4 bolt rears. You can check this pretty easily by looking at how many bolts are at the outside end of the rear axles.

Trust me on this, just because it came from the factory with one motor, doesn't mean that is what you ended up with. Look at the vfaq, there is an easy way to identify a 6 bolt by looking at the oil pan. I am sure by now everyone is aware that my 93 talon had a 95 7 bolt in it when I bought it, but the point is, you never know what some moron will swap in.

Yeah Raptor is right...when I bought my first GSX I wasn't too knowledable about cars and it turns out some food swapped in a B16A. Gotta tell ya though, nothing ownz quite as hardcore as V-TECing and ULEVing at the same time.
