Question Withdrawing classes??

Hey any of you guys in college right now ever had to take a clas over again? Or just withdrew because it was going to hurt your GPA and you figured out you didnt need the class?

Im kinda in that position and am wondering how withdrawing or retaking a class could hurt you, I know it can hurt you if you want financial help or if your looking to get into even higher education but if you just plan on graduating and being done how will it affect you?

Any advice would be cool.

If you're going to fail no matter what, withdraw. It's not a bad thing, and you will save you GPA.

depends on if

depends on if you need that classes specific grade to satisfy a requirement, such as the transfer thing. most low level classes let you completely replace your previous grade if you do better the 2nd time around

what is this math course anyways?

Its precalc. I am terribly horrible in math. I somehow managed to get a B in college alg last semester but thats because we didnt have a final.

I was never and will never be good at math no matter how much I study. It just doesnt come to me, unless I have all the material and examples in front of me... which I can have on the test so I screw myself over on them. Im trying to C it but I dont think its possible.

Too many W's on your transcript will look bad, but one or two won't be a problem.

First make sure you can drop the class without taking a penalty. Some schools make you pay for the class without even completing it, others also give you a deduction in your accumulative GPA. Read all of the fine print before you make your decision.

He has to pay for it no matter what. I was in a similar situation last semester. I my grades were A A A A C. I had so much damn trouble in Physics. I could not get the material no matter what. I studied every night before class for 2 hrs which didn't seem to help. Nobody got an A in the class which was 76-100% on the grading scale. The class was impossible.

Who is your teacher for math? I am taking Calc next semester. I took statistics last spring and pre-calc in HS. I do not have much trouble with math. I easily passed the placement tests.

I have a good teacher, Naughton he has a very nice grading policy thats how I got a B in college algeba over the summer. But now I decided to take him again becuase he is a good teacher compared to the other foriegners that try and teach math....

Yea I have to pay for it after the 4th week of classes. Thats the least of my worries. I just hate having to drop a class after Ive gone and tried so hard.

I am going to have to take statistics so I hope I can do that.
