Welcome, but I have to ask, are you going to mod an ESi for looks or for speed? Because if your going to try to make it fast your going to waste a lot of money just getting it to make stock horsepower of a TSi.

Welcome! Understand that by coming here the boost ideology will be forced upon you.

Just giving you some advice You might look back after you spend alot and say hey they were right...
Theres nothing wrong with an NA, its just a waste to make it fast.
Oh well, good luck!

well my projected costs with 90% of the work being done by myself is around 5-6k. i do want you to know that only about 2-3k is going to be spent in the engine. i am doing alot with the outside and interior because i am also making this as a business show car. (yes that is correct i am currently in the process of starting a import/repair/body shop.) so there are alot of things here to consider in costs on my car.
would that neon happen to be red, had a body kit and such that used to be up in st cloud alot. cuz if it was it was mine. i used to have a neon that pulled 15s in a qt mile and i had very few mods.

then we are assholes, oops. Ive watched person.. after person.. after person.. throw on hahn turbo kits.. do the "upgrades" and still make bs HP and blow up their 420A to peices. Take the advice. The advice is as follows, since you got your ESI cheap, drive it for a winter / DD for now. And save up over winter to buy a real dsm. But if you chose not to listen, i just have to say to everyone their own. Im on mnsc too, i havent seen ne thing of you? must not be active. Welcome to dsmstyle, this is where the big boys play ( mostly, im not a big boy as of yet tehee)

dont listen to these foo's. Anyone can turn a GSX or GST into 400 hp it takes a true tuner to make a 420a that fast. Im in the process of building my GS motor with basically the same setup as your going with. Im currently running a Hahn STage 2 on the stock motor and it's roughly 240hp. After the build I'll be right around 400. Welcome to the site if you have any questions or anything feel free to PM me. Good luck with everything

...and anyone can buy a Hahn or Star turbo kit for the 420A Just so you know, "anyone" can not turn a turbo DSM in to a 400hp car, it actually takes a lot of knowledge and tuning abilities. I've seen numerous stock or nearly stock DSM's take down very modified large-turbo DSM's just becuase the setup was put together improperly and not tuned correctly.

so what your trying to say is i dont know what the hell im doing. cuz if u are then f-u buddy. ive been around cars my whole life. built numerous muscle cars in my own shop. my every guy in my family has gone to school for automotive. I have my own shop for christ sake. so b4 you go hatin anyone around here why dont u get to know where they've come from, what they've done. because if you dont it makes you look like an @$$ later. and just because im building this car in my home shop doesnt mean its gonna be a terd when its done because b4 that car sees any pavement its going to be tuned on a dyno. so now that ive said what ive said im not here to make enemys im here to make friends that share the same interests as i do.
