Just wondering because I wanted to put in Eagle rods and Ross pistons. The Eagle Rods only go on 6-bolt engines and I wanted to know if I had one. Thanks.

you most likely have a 7bolt engine.
if you are going to be building an engine go with 6bolt, its strongly recomended.
But then again it really depends on what your goals are!

You can buy Eagle rods for 7-bolt engines.

Where are good places to shop for new engines. Mainly 6-bolts?

Buy a used 6 bolt and throw in eagle rods and weisco pistons. If you don't have money for pistons and rods, go with the stock 6 bolt rods and weisco pistons. You have a 7 bolt if it is a 93.

Check vfaq and you will be able to tell for sure. All you have to do is feel or look under the car at the oil pan. You would only have a 6 bolt engine if someone did a 6 bolt swap for some reason.

89-92.5 = 6 bolt
92.5-99 = 7 bolt
