Finally got a DSM

Well i decided after i put so much time into brandito93's gsx maybe it was time to get my own. I searched on craigslist and found a 95 fwd tsi with a rod through the block right in my town. Went to look at it the next day and ended up coming home with it the next night. Surprisingly this thing is super clean. The car has 450 injectors and a real evo 3 16g. It was tuned for 15 pounds before it blew.

Sorry for the shitty pictures. Cant really get far enough away in the shop.

Heres after the first night that i had it.

I'm going to try and keep a build thread going. Plans as of right now a 2.3 stroker and AWD swap it. I need this to be a somewhat reliable daily winter driver. I know with a dsm thats like asking to win the lottery.

That was probably the problem right there.

Re: Finally got a DSM

I pulled the block down today just out of curiousty to see how bad it was. WOW. That thing is rediculously muffed up. Ill post some pictures tomorrow. There is no piston and only a couple chunks of the rod left.

Re: Finally got a DSM

I've been kind of lazy with updating this thing. I got another 95 tsi awd for the awd parts. I now have everything i need to do the swap. This last weekend i ripped everything off the parts car that i would need and started on the project. As of right now i just have to finish welding in the hanger bearing supports and then i can mount up the gas tank and awd sub frame. I should be picking up a motor this weekend thanks to TKR. I also found out that the parts car has heated front and rear leather seats taht are in great shape so i robbed those too. Heres a couple pics of the progress and of the old motor.

Re: Finally got a DSM

Ok the swap is finished. ill get some pics up tonight. Quick question. Does anyone know if there is a fuse for the fuel pump or is it just the relays? Even before the swap there was no fuel spraying when i turned the key on and I'm wondering if maybe the previous owner maybe pulled the fuse or something.

Re: Finally got a DSM

I have everything hooked up now minus the driveshaft. The interior is all back in it with the new heated seats. Those will definitely come in handy in this cold. But after christmas the car might not be mine anymore. The fiance wants to get more into cars and possibly do a little autocrossing next year and I cant think of a christmas present so maybe she will get the talon haha. But anyway heres a few pics.

I know there crappy pics but theres not much i cant take a picture of. Haha. Just a subframe under a car.
