Show us your floor jack

Just wanted to see what you guys are using. Post a picture. Do you like it? How much was it? What is it made out of?

I'll start. I just received my OTC 1532 aluminum floor jack from Amazon for $250 shipped. So far I love it. It's 10x lighter than my old POS faded Craftsman and it's super easy to maneuver.

Re: Show us your floor jack

That looks like the one that i had that i will never buy again. I had the car up on it so i could quick slide under there and grab a socket that dropped and right when i was under it, the piston sprung a leak and dropped the car on me. lucky the car wasnt lowered and my friend had another jack handy.
Mine was the blue aluminum jack from pep boys though, so maybe not the same one.
We replaced it with the same one, and it did the same exact thing, this time no one was under the car.

How much was the floor jack at Pepboys? Was it an OTC brand? I've read so many good reviews on this floor jack that's why I purchased it.

Im not sure the brand name as it has been a while since i bought it. I would just make sure its not the same one that pep boys carries.

Re: Show us your floor jack

I recently got an Arcan XL35, it's pretty nice I guess, at least a lot better than my old cheap craftsman one. Low profile plus great range at 3.5 to 21.375 inches, dual pumps, overall good quality for just $100 on clearance at northern. It does weigh 100 lbs though.

Low Profile aluminum craftsman (sliver/red). It's light weight and low profile which I like. The jacking capabilities on the otherhand, meh... I can tell that it doesn't jack like it used to, not sure if there's a leak or what. I'll keep using it until it dies.

Tom you shouldnt be going under the car ever with just the floor jack underneath.. Put some normal jacks down FFS. durr.

Ive only used my dads epicly old floor jack, raises much further than any of the new ones, and its like 150 lbs.

The OTC 1532 floor jack takes 5 full pumps to reach the maximum height and it only weighs around 40 pounds.

Yeah i know that. I was just grabbing a socket that i dropped and was only under there for a second (which is no excuse). It was funny, when the car slammed down on me, i sat there for a second as the oil pan was pressing up against my face thinking, "can i wiggle my toes. can i move my fingers" my buddy who was standing next to the car when it happened didnt say a word thinking i was dead.. he bends over to look and was the palest black guy i had ever saw... he says "uhm are you dead" of which i reply "well no but can you get the car off of me." hahaha.

Chang was telling me about this one cause he has one too. Did you guys use a coupon to get it that cheap or is it just not on their website? Cause it isn't on there now. best deal on their site for a low profile jack is an orange one for $80.

Does it pump that fast when it has a load on it though? My Craftsman one will go to full height in like 2 pumps with no load on it. But soon as it gets a load on it, it pumps normally (by design).

Re: Show us your floor jack

I had a blue and silver aluminum floor jack like but it was made by clarke. It didn't last long though. The threads stripped out of the valve to be able to jack it up. I paid 149 for it and it didn't last a month. Its under warranty but have to send it to Europe to get it covered.

Re: Show us your floor jack

I just got that orange one from HF for $80. It is lower profile, and goes higher than the nicest aluminum one they have, which is $130 on sale right now. It isn't a rapid pump, and is a bit heavy, but it is super solid and I dont mind hefting it on and off the trailer. Finally able to get the chumpcar from ride height (uber low, little clearance with garden edging lip) to a very workable height without having to reposition on stands and add blocks on the jack to get it high enough.

Nice, maybe I'll look into that one.
