E85 availability Oklahoma to MN???

I just bought an evo out of Oklahoma city. What’s the likelihood that I can make it back from there to MN on E85? Currently the car I bought only has an e85 only tune. I’m going to bring my laptop and Tactrix cable, so I can at least rescale injectors for gas. Turn the boost down and limp it home. But as always there is Murphy’s law and something may fail, laptop or cable, who knows and I will end up trying to push the 15% LTFT leniency with some gas on a e85 tune. Has anyone made a long distance trip on e85 only, if I remember someone on this fourm may have went from Texas to MN on e85??????

Can probably plan with this interactive map for any stops.

http://maps.nrel.gov/transatlas

Maybe bring a extra fuel container, I bet there are plenty of people here who have em from when they converted to E.

That’s what I was thinking too, maybe some extra fuel containers. That site is awesome, hopefully it’s up to date. Thanks!

I routinely carry four 5gal cans in my trunk for track days. You could put even more in the back seat if you wanted to.

I don't remember seeing any e85 on 35, but I can say I was looking for either.

Re: E85 availability Oklahoma to MN???

I did this trip 4 times last year.

The first gas station in KS from OK, has E85 so you should make that, that should get you into kansas city, MO where you can E85 again, then you will be in IA where E85 is plentiful.

I used this site:
http://e85prices.com/e85map.php

Good luck, any link to the car I might of seen it while I was down there.

I shouldn't even need to try to plug in my laptop! Although I will pack a 1-2 of 5 gallon cans in the trunk just in case.

Unfortunately it requires a flash. I asked if it was map switching.

Laptop + Tactrix cable and you're set...both of which you already have.

ad was removed.

Oklahoma is the only place that is scarce for E85 on that trip, once you get E85 from oklahoma city you will be ok to make it to that gas station is KS on 35 then the rest of the way is cake.

I have a 5 gallon gas can I use only for E85 if you want another, i have three 5-gal gas cans, but that one is E85 only and the others have had 87 in them before.

I appreciate the offer, but I’m flying there, so I will be buying gas cans on site. This has been a crazy day, buy a car, schedule a flight for the next day. I’m glad my work understands, working remote from the airport lobby!

Not all holiday gas stations have E85.

Please do not post false information.

Re: E85 availability Oklahoma to MN???

it's been a long 24 hours. I'm just south of des moines iowa. Finding e 85 stations has been easy, the only trouble I've been having is with google maps on my phone. the car is in good condition as it only has 30,000 miles. I'll post pictures later thanks everyone for the advice on finding e85.
