i've noticed something, for every turbo 2g guy around here, it's always the same crap. Big alien looking (altezza) red button taillights. big ol' chrome rims that makes the car look like it's riding on tin foil. Oh, gotta love the billboard looking sticker car that makes you wonder if there is any paint left to be covered on the car. hmm.. oh yeah, a blow off valve so damn loud it makes normal drivers on the road jump in their seat in fear. hmm, what else, oh yeah, big ass subwoofers that rattles off their body panels and and drowns out other drivers' music, who are listening to their classical music or national public radio. oh yeah, and an ultra fly body kit that looks like it's hung on by elmer's glue and makes the cosmetic designer's at mitsubishi ooze in their pants. urgg... yeah yeah, people say ' it makes me happy' and i'm thinking yeah, 'if that makes you happy, so should a 25 cent 80 year old hooker. urggg.. why can't there be something nice looking, something simple, something elegant, look at the honda guys.. some of those cars are beautiful, a nice sized nonflashy wheel, a cf front lip, and and that's it! normal drivers wouldnt even think that car is something modified whereas the car enthusist would just look in appreciation. wow, how come there are no guys like that for the 2g!? someone please tell me where i can find that guy 'cause he deserves a nice cold beer.

I think the 2g's with the 97-up front bumper and wing look the best. Non-chrome 18s help too. I also think its kinda cool when people take off the badging for some reason.

I do have to kinda agree with joe here.
I have seen a few good looking 2g's, but it does seem like most of them are really poorly done.
Bodykits aren't necessaryily bad, but ill fitting, un-painted ones are, everyone here knows that, so don't try and argue.

I dont think my car is that god awful, even though it has 18" chrome wheels. Its clean, pics are worth a 1000 words right.

Hense the reason I am not a big fan of 2G's. There is a large tendency to go ultra ricey with them. There are however quite a few that are well done. Enes has one of the nicest ones you could hope to find as do a few others on this board. There are a few 1G guys that rice them out as well and I would prefer they all drove something else but what can you do other than make yours clean and hope they realize which actually looks better.
Stirring the pot can be fun, I do it quite often. But don't be surprised when someone takes it way too seriously and starts getting offensive back like tom, that is part of the risks of it.
Tom, chill out. You know I and half the other people here liked your car better stock than now, don't take offense to it, they are just opinions we are entitled to. If you prefer it the way it is, thats fine, but don't be surprised when someone expresses their opinion about it.

alright, here's my reason for posting this, i see only a handful of really nice and clean 2g's and other ones with 10 feet metal shop spoilers, it just makes me upset that people would go and do something like that. anyway, the only reason why i said "dont compare ur life to mine" is well i guess im a little arrogant because my family is so well off (multi-millionaires). i know it's not my money but i guess it does make someone pompous and arrogant. anyway, i guess it's like this tom, me and u both have 2g's, we both have opposite tastes as to what we like for looks, let's go line our 2g's up and see who comes out a winner. i mean hell, we both have people that like the stock look or the modified tom look, i guess the only way to decide this is to line up our cars, and i do believe u have more mods than I. anyway, it'll be fun, and take some tension off this worthless topic
cliff notes: everybody likes different style 2G DSMs, tom and i should go run them in the 1/4 mile to see which is better considering we both are awesome looking 2g's that have our own fans as far as looks go

just out of curiosity, what does your car run joe?
as long as the owner has put effort into it, I can appreciate where they are coming from, lately most stock loking dsms are just stock, if they have exterior mods, they usually have something done to them, to bad 70% of the 2g owners start on the outside, while 70% of the 1g owners start inside.
To each its own, I personally like the styling on my 'tonka truck'

OK, to keep this on topic, I have a basically stock looking 2G Talon, even has stock rims (super clean mind you). Guess what? Money goes to performance mods first, and I've already started in with the exhaust, intake, and soon fuel system. The only mod that would be changing my appearance (for now) is the suspension, which is a key ingredient to a nice car.
Now, for my initial question, WHY THE HELL DO PEOPLE INCLUDE THEIR PHOTO SIGNATURES IN EVERY REPLY TO A POST? There are rules on other forums I am on that exclude the use of your signature more than once in a thread. It is kinda useless and uses bandwith folks. :naughty:
Ok, I have stated my peace.

Tom, as you know we are cool.....I've got nothing against you at all, but you have to realize your bodykit looks pretty bad. The paint doesn't match, you wrecked some of the factory paint, and the fiberglass or bondo that you used to mold it on is wavy. I do like the fact you have upgraded your turbo, and I think the HK$ is the best aftermarket BOV available so don't think I am just hating on you here. You should also get some decent shocks for those R1 Racing coilovers. As far as my opinion goes, I say that Enes has the best looking 2G in the area, and one of the better looking ones nationwide. I think that Joe's car is very clean and nice looking and I deffinately like what he did with the wheels, but I do not like the "shaved" center piece. So are you guys gonna put some cash down for this race or what?

Personally, I just think it needs to be in moderation or in good taste.
a DSM with a decent body kit is okay as long as it looks good...
a Grand Am with a body kit is not okay. Period.
