New to the forum... another Evo
What's up guys. My name is Blake I work up at MAP. I've been watching the forum for a while, but just recently became an Evo owner, so I thought I would sign up and contribute.
Mods:
- Injen intake
- Injen Hard Intercooler piping
- Walbro 255
- PT 780cc injectors
- AMS fuel rail
- Hallman MBC
- Hks SSQV
- HKS Turbo Timer
- HKS EIDS Type K
- Hks 272 cams
- Exedy Twindisk HD clutch
- DNP Equal Length Turbo Manifold
- Invidia o2 housing
- Greddy Sport Tuned 3" Exhaust
- Tein S-tech springs
- AMS Small Battery Kit
- Fresh Timing Belt
Here is a picture I took after cleaning it up last Saturday with my phone, sorry for the quality.
Plans are to have the trunk holes shaved and repainted. I took the spoiler off because it had the clear coat issue on the cf on the wing like they all do. Once it was off I decided I like that look better, and it will stay off. Also new front bumper will be ordered, as there are some cracks in the current one, and I found a cf lip that will fit perfect. As far as aesthetics go that will be about it for now. There are some power improvements in the works, but will tell you more about that later.
Current HP: 341whp / 311 ft/lbs @ 19psi on E85 / Needs a WGA before I can turn up the boost anymore.
1/4: 13.0 @ 108 / Ran this weekend at Sabin. There is more in the car, but I have to work on my launching skills. Best 60' this weekend was 1.9.
That's all for now... more to come.

Re: New to the forum... another Evo
yeah just what he quoted so far...
I'm gonna get one of our rev3s on it once we're caught up with customers, a different wga so I can turn up the boost a little more, then would like to get it on sd. then we will find out where i'm going to run out of injector if I don't get some before that.

Re: New to the forum... another Evo
You don't need a different WGA to run more boost. You can make 27+ on the stock stuff.

Re: New to the forum... another Evo
Yeah I know I can do the spring trick too. It will get one of the two methods soon enough.

What'chew talkin about willis? a standard MBC on the stock WGA will spike to 30+psi, just crank that fuker down! Hell tuned evos run 24 on pump, no springs or fancy tricks.

mine wouldn't. Jordan said with the MBC cranked it wouldn't go past 19psi.

Re: New to the forum... another Evo
Got a graph? maybe it wouldn't hold any more than 19psi at redline or something? Seriously makes no sense dude, every tuned stock evo out there is running more than 19psi.

+1, otherwise ecu controlled boost works awesome for keeping more up top. Stock stuff should be able to spike to around 30.
And welcome to the board!

Re: New to the forum... another Evo
I thought I would update the thread as I finally got around to playing with this. I found that the Hallman MBC that I have had the lighter spring in it, swapped it out for a buddies, and BAM 22psi. I now have 1250s, our MAP Rev3, and more boost coming soon. We are putting it back on the dyno next Thursday, so we will see how she does.
