Boomba advertises their mounts as being moderate. They are too new so I haven't seen any reviews. They look the sex, though, I'll give them that.

Re: Evo X upgrades
Not related to your build, but I wasn't sure if I told you about the BIR instructor who also has an Evo X. His name is Tom Hazen. I have seen him there before. Maybe you want to look for him there for tips on driving since he drives his car there as well.

Yeah, he was the guy doing some laps before we got out on the track. I will be doing quite a few days with BIRPerformance so I'm sure I'll have him as a coach at some point.

That is evoatcha on evomn. He was on here for a brief while, then we had um....how to put it politely? A fucking huge misunderstanding. He might be welcome if he pulls off a huge apology.

Re: Evo X upgrades
I had him as an instructor one day and he seemed fairly nice. I know it ins't my business, but it would be interesting to know what bugged you guys about him. I think he is big into auto-x as well. I met a few viper guys at the AUto-x event at the Amery (sp?) airport. I think he was running that one if I remember correctly.

Re: Evo X upgrades
I will also say that Tom Hazen isn't welcome around here. I also refuse to go to events he organizes (Wisconsin road tours, Amery airport speed run, Afton hill climb, MN Austin Healey gymkhana) and more or less tell the same thing to people I know.
The guy is a grade-A creep. You may as well not have any women around that you care about if he's around. He came on here for no reason other than to beg for volunteers to work at his event (the hill climb I believe) but would not let anyone actually participate in it. It was either full or he had the remaining spaces reserved for certain people. Apparently this site isn't good enough to ask its members to participate in the event, but he can ask everyone here to work at his event for free (lunch was provided...) at the last minute because he couldn't find anyone else to help him out.
To be honest, I though Tom was fine at first, maybe misunderstood at most. I met up with him and someone else for breakfast one morning before heading out to Cokato to race karts. All was well, was full of himself when behind the wheel but no big deal. Even had a couple beers with him and a couple other people afterward. Then he came to an EvoMN/MitsuStyle gathering at Midway one summer night, creeped hardcore on all the women, and later posted up his plea for help here and that was all she wrote.
For sure ask Anna, Janelle, Ali and Emily(ylime) what they think of him.

Yup, significantly creepy with the women. I certainly noticed it at the couple of events I had gone to prior to him meeting the style crew.

I'll keep my girlfriend far far away from this guy. I'm assuming he'll be the guy with the binoculars and the mirror strapped to the toe of his shoe?

He's not the gawker type, he's the verbal type. Will talk to girls and not even attempt to hide the fact that he's a creeper. And the fact that he's about 50 years old just makes it all that much worse.

Re: Evo X upgrades
What's small, blue, and sexay? The CBRD BB-X, of course!
All of the big parts have arrived, so it's just a matter of getting quotes on the install. I'd like to get the fuel system installed myself but realistically it won't happen...I'd need a place to work and a second car to run for whatever parts I didn't know I needed. Living in an apartment/condo blows.

Re: Evo X upgrades
Woowoo man, looks good! I have a few guys stacked up for parts installs at my place, but if you hand don't hesitate to ask. I only work for beer/liquor/food/fun so its pretty informal. Can we get an updated big parts-to-install list? You must have a fuking pile of boxes.

The one thing that I could use help with is the fuel system install. If anyone wanted to offer help or even just lend out some garage space in the next week or two then that'd be much appreciated. I sent out a feeler to Shawn (simulatedwood) on that already since I know he has a nice space.
BlaqOPs double-pump carrier/controller & vacuum hose/Boomba fuel rail.
Manley rods & JE pistons (Shane wasn't keen on this. Buschur says drop-in is fine).
Cosworth MX1 cams and valve springs
Full Race mani/BB-X turbo
Boomba 75mm throttle body & teflon intake gasket
Boomba motor mounts
Boomba catch can (might get a second one. need to find a filter for venting)
Test pipe
AMS intake
Vibrant boost distribution block (still need to figure out fittings & lines for this)
Longer term:
PLX gauges, A-pillar pod, Knocklite.
I'm having Shane bid out the install right now. If DB doesn't do the job then I'll talk to RS.
I'd just like to do the fueling myself since it is wiring and vacuum line, not rocket science...just need to figure out everything that I need and find a place to do it.

Re: Evo X upgrades
The blaqops isn't too bad, just takes time. I ran out of it so I think MAP is going to finish that install.
Tools always help too
Good luck on everything, this build will be sweet.
My exhaust mani is off and being ported now, woo.
