Mitsustyle newb here

I got recommended here by some people over on Evomn, so I thought I'd check it out!! My name's Travis and I've had two evo's so far. I bought my first one off a showroom floor (big mistake). It was an apex silver IX MR SE which I loved to death, but it was absolutely trashed after Buschur got their hands on it . But then I sold that one off and got an 03 tb gsr. As it sits mods are... fully built 2.4l RnR race motor, precision 6776 (37r), meth injection, supporting mods, etc etc. As it sits with a boost leak, it's making 628/598@30psi on 91+meth with a conservative tune. It's at the shop now, and with the retune+parts it'll make well over 700. If not, I might just have to juice it . I currently live in Ohio, but will be going to Minneapolis for school in July. Somewhere the cops don't know me.. should be fun. Hoping to meet some of you soon.

Re: Mitsustyle newb here

WELL....it's a pretty long story and it's been a while so I'll probably leave out a few details but here it goes... I broke in the IX and once it was broken it I decided to take it to Buschur to have a few mods done. tbe, intake, ported intake mani, o2 housing, throttle body, 272 cams, and a few other little things. They handed me a dyno sheet reading 330whp and 270 or 280 some tq. The tune that they put on the car was GARBAGE!!! I would cruise down the highway and when I put the car in neutral it would just shut off going 70+...fun stuff. I called Buschur because the car started to idle like shit, and they told me I was probably screwing with stuff myself when even though I'd never even touched the engine bay. So I took the car to the track to see what kind of times it could put down. I managed to destroy the stock clutch after a day of passes. Stupidly, I took my car back to Buschur and had them put in an exedy twin hd. SIDE NOTE (buschur is over 2.5 hours from my house) While my car was there I asked them to check the tune and see what the problem was. I get there and they had the clutch in, but of course the tune was exactly the same w/ the same problems. I made it 1.5 hours home and realize my temp gauge is ON THE H!!! So I started freaking out and called Buschur. Instead of telling me how to fix the simplest damn thing that I could have done myself, they tell me I have to be there in an hour because they're closing, when I'm 1.5 hours away in a car you can watch the temp gauge go up... so I HAUL ASS clear back there to show up to them LEAVING!!! They were all getting in their cars getting ready to go home. I pull up, and the guy gets out of his car, comes over, opens the hood and just plugs in the radiator... they forgot to plug it back in when they gave me the car. There were no sorry's or anything of the sort. I make it back home and a few weeks later I took my car to the track again to see some times with the new clutch. I'm a damn good driver, and the best time I could pull out w/ 1.6xx 60ft was 12.7 at 110 or something like that. I then decided to race an evo w/ an exhaust, intake and tune ONLY from a roll... after 4th gear he pulled away from me. I emailed David Buschur and called him. He then claims that I NEVER had my car there LMFAO. What a way to take your name off of shit work. I have multiple witnesses (those who dropped me off and brought me home from Buschur) Any post that I put up complaining about buschur on evom is deleted by mods. Buschur is a joke and I'm SO SO SO SO glad people are finally starting to call him out on his crap work. I've met countless others who have the same crappy experiences with them. Sorry for the ridiculously long story, I just typed as I remembered...

Wow, fucked up story. I have some of his parts on my car and they're slowly being removed/replaced.

Thanks for sharing. When I first joined the EvoM, from all the posts there, I thought that BR is a very reliable brand and big for the Evo...but then I started reading into more and more bad stories about them.

Anyways, welcome to MN and we do have a great evo community here, a couple great shops, and the ppl love to help! Like me, I'm totally new to turbo car things..but I got countless help from the great Evo buddies here locally, and now my car has some power, not much comparing to yours, but already exceed what I can manage at this moment

Glad to see some good guys joining the forum. I like the people on this forum a lot, they're all great and very knowledgeable and love to lend hands. I've learned a lot since I've joined and made some great friends along the way.

Sorry to hear about your BR experience man! I have very few parts from him on my car and I'm pretty grateful for that.

Welcome.
Good luck in the future. I like doing my own shit, there is satisfaction when you do all the work and it all works good.
