My good morning suprise yesterday!
So on my morning trip to take the dog out yesterday i walked past my car and saw this!!!!
An Ice chunk fell off of the roof and smashed my windshield. I don't normally park outside or in front of the garage when I do, but happened to that night (last time i do that!) I'm also the dummy that doesn't have full glass coverage, so I did some calling around and got it replaced for 259.00 including tax! I also found out the base lancer windshield is the same size and shape, but ways 3 lbs more and is a couple hundred cheaper, needless to say i went with the base lancer one! And I know have glass coverage! Oh well live and learn!
Here is what it looked like from the inside.

Re: My good morning suprise yesterday!
Holy crap that must have been one hell of any ice chunk. It didn't dent anything else? Surprising if it didn't. Yeah glass coverage is something that is nice to have; windshields are expensive. My GTP got cracked once, and I since it has heads up display it was way more expensive than a normal one. I can't remember how much but it was in the $800 range.

Re: My good morning suprise yesterday!
yeah amazingly nothing else got damaged! I was very happy and surprised the hood didn't have any, some glass shards but they came off with compressed air with out problems.
I got it replaced yesterday afternoon at Affordable Auto Glass in Hopkins. The guy was nice and got me the best price around! Recommend them to anyone!

Re: My good morning suprise yesterday!
Holy cow! That would have sucked bad. Just thank the stars it didnt hit your hood or roof, that would of been some real carnage.

Re: My good morning suprise yesterday!
Wow, that's pretty crazy! That was either a really heavy piece of ice, or a really pointy one. Looks like maybe a combination of both. Glad to hear the damage was limited to the windshield!

That is good news!
Still sucks, though. You'll be finding glass in your interior forever.
