It's illegal, so what's the problem? It is the fault of Ultimate corporate for selling it in this state, so you really shouldn't be harassed, but it is illegal so get over it.

The reason cops can be pricks is because they have to deal with pricks. Stupid little kids that break the law then get mad at the cops for giving them a ticket. Rules are there for your protection, but when you're 18, you're probably not going to realize that yet. They have a job to do just like everyone else, treat them with respect, and they'll usually return the favor.

Hard to treat someone with respect when you give it and they immediately give you shit.

I had a lady take a hammer to my GS-T. She then broke my upstairs window after I locked her out. cops came as my neighbors called the police on her cause they thought she was breaking in or something was wrong.

The cop tells me that there is nothing he can do about the car or the window (even after she admits it to him) But says I have to let her in the house to get her stuff even though she'd moved out.

Cops regardless will never get MY RESPECT. IN every situation that I've ever needed them. They've told be to basically FUCK OFF.

I'd have respect if they actually where to fallow "to protect and to serve". My personal opinion of "Most" cops are that they were the kids that got picked on in School and are now getting there revenge on everyone. At least that seems like the additude.

I'll admit there are "some" nice ones. But they are way to far and few to off set the bad ones. Hell why do you think you read about all the cops of late getting into trouble.

In the last year:

didn't a maple grove cop get busted for getting a credit card under some Football players name and spending his money?

-wasn't it a female police officer that killed a person this year will driving someone to a hockey game.

-what about the 3 that were just put on suspension for killing a fellow officer or something (ie: they shot him)

-There was also a write up that I read not to long ago where a local sherifee deputy left a threatening message stating he's going to break this guys nose/legs.
Which was in response to this guy calling in that his wife (who owned a company) was illegally disposing of cemicals or something?

Now I obviously don't read the newspapers so my facts might not be 100% straight but that's basically the jist of the things I've skimmed over, etc.

I guess growing up in N.Y. I just have a hatred for police. (personally now adays I think the NY police are actually nice then the MN cops)

I personally hate BS tickets as well. Wasn't it that someone got a ticket for oversized wing on an EVO even though it was stock? Reason I hate things like this are because you have to spend the time fighting them. And you never get paid for the time you have to take off work to get it cleared.

I know I've gotten 3 tickets that I got dismissed that I shouldn't have ever gotten in the first place. But still had to fight. just like that stock wing etc. (long time ago so I can't remember specifics in details but)

And what ever happened to fix it tickets? Shit half those tickets cost double the price of what it cost to fix the problem. Like a burnt out head light. Well shit you have 2 Fog lights as well as another head light so how are you supposed to know unless each time before you drive you go out and check your car over. Would be nice if they would let you know.

I got pulled over in my parents boat for not having the 360 degree light on. Well it was on. But I had the camper up so you can't see the light. Well through hitting waves it lost it's connection. When I got pulled over he informed me that my red/green lights were working but the back one wasn't he then wrote me a ticket for $110 said I had to get off the water. And while he was writing the ticket I went back and pushed it back in place and the light came on. He still wrote me the ticket and said sorry I already started writing it out. WTF.

I agree with Steve's post only to a certain extent. When pulled over I am always nice, but that only seems to matter some of the time. I don't feel like getting into it. I respect what they do, just not them.

So far since I have started driving (16) until now (19) I have never been pulled over or have even had any experiences with a cop.

I dont really like how most act just because they are cops though. I disagree how they can do whatever they want... speed and do other illegal shit that no one else can get away with.

Everyone that has gotten pulled over for any reason has to be doing something suspicous or maybe Im just really lucky.

Yea but suspicous could mean stickers and an import with exhaust and stuff... My exhaust is louder than most other cars Ive driven with and that still didnt seem to matter... although I do put it in nuetral when I see a cop nearby.

I see a difference in wheels/ 2G vs 1G ...etc

The Judicial system works both ways 95 percent of the time for the good of things. cops do way way more then just traffic stops and so on. How many of you take shit from your boss and then are pissed off the entire rest of the day??? how often does that happen? well cops get it from civilians all day long.

My cousin is a cop and has busted 15 meth labs since october in a town that has a population of about 2000 Somerset Wisconsin. Chased one meth cooker from minneapolis one night caught him in some guys house with a weapon the guy was in possesion of about 6 stolen guns and had about 4 felonies against him a few for bringing much pain and suffering on others such as stabbing and what not. that guy was in someones house with a gun. whose to say what the guy was going to do. Personally Traffic stops are just a routine thing and the least of a cops duties 99 percent of the time. Think about it!

yeah, but if I am speeding I don't want to see them.lol

I know I am in the wrong but still I don't feel like seeing them, I understand this is what they do and I don't hate them for it I just hate the situation when a cop is on my ASS like riding me. I felt I was in a NASCAR race.

Just remembered 2 incidents the first 4 months I'd been living here.

My car at the time was a 89 Olds cutlass touring sedan (my fathers) completely stock except 16K stereo. With NY Plates

it was summer time and my brother and I had just moved here (my parents moved a year before us)

And we were working for RGIS inventory specialists. Comeing home from work at 2am. on 77 south coming up on Cliff.

We got pulled over. And I politely asked why am I being pulled over. He replied Liscense and registration. I gave him my license, etc. he ran the license came back and said the reason I pulled you over was for the Graduation tasle you have hangin in on your rear view. Now I didn't get a ticket but 2am tastle was dark Green, only about 6"s long, in a car with stock tint doing 60mph passing a cop that's sitting on the side of the road. with 2 people in the front seat of the car blocking the front windows. Right (NY Plates got me pulled over)

2nd - Apple Valley same car a month later this time I have a friend up from Boston College. I get pulled over at arond 3pm. Again I ask why am I being pulled over. No response other then Please exit the vehicle. I look at my friend like WTF?

He tells us to go site on the curb. So we do and he then proceeds to got through the entire car. When he's done he's like Nice stereo. hands me my license and says have a nice day and leaves. (again NY Plates all the way I'm guessing)

I don't know it I would totally have a different view point if when I actually needed the law to be on my side they actually would do something about it.

But all I've ever been told was that I'm basically S.OL. or this isn't the movies we don't do that. bla, bla, bla.

I don't know personally I think they are just lazy. they'd rather get paid (via: tickets) vs spending money helping people. it's all political IMO.

They can ask. If you tell them no, then they have to get a warrant. So they can just hold you there till they get approval. So if you'd like things to work a little smoother, just say yes. Besides, if youve got nothing to hide who cares whether they search.

I think thats bullshit. Just cuz I have stickers, and chrome rims dont mean Im doing something wrong, and should be pulled over. Fuck that shit. When you see me speeding, or racing, or god knows what, that is ACTUALLY ILLEGAL, pull me over. I'll have dick to say then.

I didn't have a say in it. He just told us to get out of the car.

And that car was completely stock looking family sedan, the only thing would be plates and the fact that I wear a baseball cap all the time.

Thinking of Stereo typing.

I was at elite one day when a guy with a turbo'd SI got done dynoing and went to the holiday station on the otherside of the building. (he drove there)

on his way back a police car fallowed him in. Blocked him in and then proceded to have the driver vacate the car, then searched it, making him pop the hood, and the trunk. While his partner frisked the driver.

I got some of it on video tape. when I was noticed pointing the camera at the police of the ongoing. the lady searching the guy said something to the other officer and they stopped what they were doing and left. After talkinging with the owner of the car he said they gave the reason of "you look suspisious" as justification of the search.

they can look in ur car but may not search it like if the window is open they can look around but may not SEARCH IT. like check around the car that is legal but actually start searching is not legal. watch a cop next time u are pulled over they do a quick check in ur car to see if they cfan get a reason to search

if you are not pulled over fr speeding or anything illegal ask him/her find anything intersting?

LOL that would be funny as hell

Do everytime they scan the plates do previous stops get put on their computer so they know what went on with each stop? Or just the "Illegal" situations get put on there?

Becuase then maybe they scan plates look at your whole record and if youve been pulled over alot they would keep on doing it? I dunno.
