Turbo Bogging

I have a 95 GSX - Apex'i dp / exhaust / Intake + filter / UICP + Bov. all else stock.

In the past few months, when normal driving, my turbo drives fun. But when you step on it a bit to WOT, it starts to really bog. The car stutters, like its not willing to move and then a few seconds later, it starts to go. I have no idea what this could lead to and am wondering what you guys think it may be for me to fix.

So far, i'm thinkin it may just be a simple spark plug fix, but i'm hoping it goes no farther than that. I hope my turbo isn't dead either.

Re: Turbo Bogging

Plugs, wires, and a boost leak check are a good place to start. Probably needs a tune too. Do you have a SAFC or some other means of tuning?

Re: Turbo Bogging

Oops, I meant my turbo drives fine. And forgot to mention that I have magnecore wires.

I was thinking it maybe just the plugs, so I'll get that this weekend and hope there's nothing more to it. If not, then I'll do the wires and the boost leak test too.

As for tuning, I don't have anything to tune my car. I'm not sure if it does need tuning, maybe. I believe I have an eprom and i have access to dsmlink though.

Wires.

With your mods you are definitely in need of a tune.

Re: Turbo Bogging

I had similar symptoms last year and a few of my plugs were going bad whenever I got on it a bit. Went to NGK 6&7's and did the wires and it still happened but not as bad.

Later my alternator and voltage regulator went completely out. After replacement of that and a new battery it has gone completely away other than running too lean if I boost spike.
