One of the many
Well, first day of new job while I was on my way to work, I got pulled over by the highway patrol. I guess I had it coming sooner or later because the reason he pulled me over was because my exhaust was too loud. I have a 3" Buschur Racing catback with a ebay down pipe with no cat. I'll probably try to go to court to see if I can manage to bring it down a little bit. Any advice guys? What a good way to start a new job, especially on a Monday too right?

Re: One of the many
You can put a resonator in, then take and have it tested. If he didn't have a decibel meter, then it is just his word against your test results.

Re: One of the many
I hate how they can actually give a ticket for that when you know damn well that harley that just drove by you is ten times louder then you are, but oh that doesnt matter right. FTP

Agreed. Just pay the ticket and be done, our lovely court system has no LOVE for tunners, and if you go their fighting it, you might be walking into a bigger fine, and that would really Suck The Big Lc Kuando!!!!

Re: One of the many
MN (Hennepin county at least) has no actual decibel level restrictions, its soley based on the cop's discrection so there is nothing to have tested. This is what I was told in court. I got an exhaust ticket one of my motorcycles and did get the fine reduced to $50 by talking with the county prosecuter.

I got out of mine, but only because of knowing people who know people. Good luck with your case. I'd still go talk to a hearing officer or something, give them some proof you have had it tested to not be as loud as it was. Or put stock exhaust on it and have it tested.

Re: One of the many
DONT JUST PAY IT! I have talked to the hearing officer like 6 times for tickets(speeding, tint...). I didnt even go in the fighting I just talked to them and save myself a bunch of money. It takes all of 10 min and you save yourself a good $50+.

Re: One of the many
I am in the same bat! I started last monday, and a state trooper came into work (they like hanging out at the shop for the coffee-we also work on their cars for them, as a contract through the city) and he wanted to ticket my car for tint. He said to my boss, "Should I leave a ticket with your file on that car?" And my boss said "not if you want your car fixed right". He then told the officer it was my car, and I was working on the trooper's vehicle. They both laughed I guess. I was told all of this after the fact.

yeah if i was working on his car and he gave me a ticket for tint that trooper would have had a wheel fall off on the highway.
