well i have been wanting a GSX or TSI for a while, first gen that is. I was wanting to know what to look for in the car, IE if it smokes or what color smoke i should look for, ride style, engine sounds, things of the sort. i have one n mind, that is off this shady car lot in town, he droped the price from 2500 to 1500 cash. Kinda funny huh, well since i know some things about cars i looked it over. It had 160K on the speed o, dent in fender, motor ran and sounded good, i reved (5k-higher) it up because my friend was scared, and it sounded ok, idal fine, also the pedal was sticky, like hard to press, but i got the job done. Now i am going to drive it once the snow stops. I know if i buy it i will have to put money in to the car. i plan to get it running and fine tuned first, then manual boost controler, BOV, FULL EXHUAST not just a muffler, plgs , wires, battery, oil, fluids, new seal/gaskets. what do you all think. :rally:

PS i live in missouri, car year is 91 does 1000 dollars sound good?

Get out while you're ahead. But if you really wanna get in the game, go for it, and plan for headaches and heartaches. :toast: :headache: :stick:

Based upon your post, I definitely think you should do some more general research about DSMs before purchasing one. Look through some of the old posts around here along with reading through the "General/Newbie" forum on dsmtuners.com. The more research you do, the better off you will be in the long run

A turbo DSM for $1000 that runs is a good deal. You might as well get it checked over by a local shop or professional mechanic though since you are still fairly new in the game. It doesn't cost a whole lot of money and its surprising whats visible once the car is on a lift.
