Took my shitbox to the dyno....

I wasn't sure where to put this so I threw it in here. Pulled 428whp/343wtq right off the street on 93 octane. I tried to throw in some c16 to push up on the limits of the stock 2g motor, but I ran into issues and it got too late. I will go back in a few weeks to throw down over 500whp. When i get my digi cam back I will thorw pics up of the sheet. Boost was 24 psi and timing was 10-11 deg. Car has typical bolt ons with hks 264/272, 2g magnus with 2g throttlebody, and DSMlink. The low torgue probably has something to do with the PT67 on a stock 2.0. It also explains why the stock clutch holds up to 428whp. The numbers were on a dynojet in 60-65 deg weather. Not bad for 116k miles.

geez, t67 on a stock clutch? That'll last a while...

nice numbers, though! How much boost are you running on pump gas?

Re: Took my shitbox to the dyno....

I am only running a tial 38 and it has a 1.4 bar spring. When the weather is cool (60s here in tx) it won't go lower than 24psi. So that is where it is at on the dyno. The clutch is actually much happier now with the laggier turbo. it only sees the tq number and this set up makes a good bit less torque than my stock manifold scm61. I has held 380ft lbs on the dyno, but did stink up the room. Future plans include my crower/magnus 2.4 with a polk head and comp 101400 cams. I will probably also switch to the race magnus or the AMS intake manifold and 75mm tb.

Re: Took my shitbox to the dyno....

I'm guessing you raised the rev limiter on your setup. That turbo would barely be making boost by 7500 on a 2.0.

I had a PTE 3767 with a T3 .63a/r exhaust housing on it. With my 2.0 I had 30psi by 5500 or so, reved it to 8000 and made "550" whp on 110 octane, safe tune. I would put a good clutch in there asap, that will help a lot.

Re: Took my shitbox to the dyno....

Wouldnt the low tq be because of the intake manifold too? I thought it helps out a lot with top end, and the longer runners in our stock manifolds help create more torque.

nah, i left it at 7500 since I knew it would hit peak before then. It doesn't spool till 6k on the dyno , but it is about 500rpm faster on the street. People still hit peak torque before 6k with a magnus

I think this turbo was a T4 .81 though.

When I sold it to him, it had a T4 .68, which is roughly equivalent to a T3 .82

Re: Took my shitbox to the dyno....

What did it make in SAE? STD is an old obsolete correction factor that is mainly used to over exaggerate the HP numbers when it is hot out.

SAE was 421 .xx for the highest pull. I only got this sheet form the shop. I have always heard that the STD inflates the numbers more, but it sure wasn't too much of a difference. Maybe it was the cool temps or relatively low output.
