Finally my manifold is finished.

It took way toooooooo long, but I think the result was worth it.

Scott @ VPE did a great job. The manifold is actually polished s/s, but the lighting makes it look goldish in the pics.

Any comments?

I got it a lowered price since it is the proto-type and the first one they built. It is part of a "package deal" Scott gave me on my whole turbo set-up. Scott will be adding it to their web-site soon with a price.

As soon as I can get the time to put it back together and find a local dyno shop, hopefully a 4-wheel dyno.

T3 or T4? Is it made out of tubing or weld-els?

Not really, it's a T3. What's a weld-el?

Re: Finally my manifold is finished.

Weld-els are plumbing pieces that a lot of people and places(like Full Race) make their manifolds out of. The manifolds usually end up being quite heavy, but very durable.

Why didn't you do a T4?

My turbo was already built with a T3 housing. May not flow quite as well as a T4, but it will be close with the exhaust wheel we used. I'll find out for sure on the "weld-els" and let you know. I know it's some s/s that alot of the "high-end" fabricators are going to, so it might be weld-els.

Shouldn't that thing be around your neck on a chain opposed to on a car?

It's all about the jewelry.

Re: Finally my manifold is finished.

I just talked to Scott at VPE and he confirmed it for me.
To answer the question;
It is made from "Weld-els".

Re: Finally my manifold is finished.

T3? You might as well just have stuck with a 2G manifold. Actually, it looks damn good. Just make sure you use some bracing under the turbo or downpipe to help hold it up. You probably wouldn't need that with weld-els.

Ya, all the weld-els I seen are ugly little log manifolds. That is beautiful!
