You just run a welded VC or center diff and run only parts of the front axles, so they don't actually do anything but act as place holders.
Isn't most of that video from a year ago?

Re: Local Rear Wheel Drive DSM...What?
The video is from about a week ago, and yes he is running a spool from TRE and only parts of the front axles... We definately expected something to break, but the four bolt and the axles held up nicely. The insane part is that a ~ 300 whp rear wheel drive DSM gets squirrly in third without even dumping the clutch

Very cool. Did he remount the engine and go with a RWD tranny?

This is Kyle we're talking about... He himself rivals HORT when it comes to ghetto mechanics.

This coming from the kid who has not had a running dsm in his life! Fuck, I thought your car was one of Mikes first projects. I was there the other day and it is still sitting there. Go do it yourself ya mechanic. You give me shit when you cannot even work on your car.

I bought the car as a project, and Mike agreed to help me with it. The project keeps getting bigger. What can't you understand about that? I'm not cutting corners, it's all being done right the first time. I'd rather have one non-running DSM than a handful of them that run half-assed or not at all.
By the way, who's really the kid? Last I checked I didn't live with my parents. Try living in an apartment without a garage and then ask why my car is still at QPR.

You are 26 and have a (probly) full time job at Target??? I am 20, work full time (ace) and go to school full time in the fall and spring. I took 19 credits last semester getting straight A's. I am actually finacially independent. I could move out but I value money more than you. I will NEVER rent a place to live for a while. While paying school, I am actually saving for a house or some real estate investing. I have quite a bit saved up.
As far as an appartment withought a garage, do you think someone is going to steal the car? Ask anyone who has been to my house. My garage is full of dsm shit. I work most of the time out of it unless I am doing an engine or something in the winter. No heat or cooling, just shelter from rain or snow. If you want to discuss more, PM me.

Re: Local Rear Wheel Drive DSM...What?
he probably broke the trany and it works only in RWD so he is just driving it around that way until it completely breaks.. i'm sure thats whats up..
OR,
he removed front axles. sealed the holes so it doesn't leak oil out, and has the welded VC in .. ;p

Re: Local Rear Wheel Drive DSM...What?
yes, but the burnout was way more dramatic, and it was a real RWD conversion, I believe (i.e. chevy tranny, rotated motor, etc.) I thought the same thing, some narrow, random, paved road in the middle of a field w/ a rwd dsm doing burnouts. Then again, if I was going to do long, dramatic burnouts, that might be the place to try it out!
In the older video, the guy initially spins out off the road, just a bit.

Re: Local Rear Wheel Drive DSM...What?
So who makes adapters and shit for the RWD swap that turns the engine and matches it with a diff tranny? I am sure Buschur does, but does anyone else? Or do most just get the mesurments and have something made up...?

Yup, that's him. You can't mistake the FMIC by any means. I love it. LOL
