If alpine is going to be updating their lineup anytime soon, I've heard that they are going to through a friend but I am not sure if its really reliable info or not, just wondering if anyoen know.

Re: Does anyone in car audio know...

Um.... As every manufacturer does, they did this year. Every year, models change, features get added, prices change and so on. I have quite a bit of experience with Alpine, so if you have any specific questions, just ask. And ignore anything ACRucrazy might say about the topic as he is a douche.

Re: Does anyone in car audio know...

Alpine just did a new lineup mid last year, so it should be coming up soon like around july. And dont pay attention to what alpineTSI or acr says, they work for best buy. LOL jk

Ah well, my friend and I were both looking at the iPod interface but right now how the scrolling works I considering it unusable and I was going to wait to see if they fix that in the next revisions.

Re: Does anyone in car audio know...

Alpine has 2 headunits with GlideTouch for quicker scrolling. The CDA-9853 and CDA-9855.

Re: Does anyone in car audio know...

www.crutchfield.com 30-day return policy for any reason plus free wiring/install kits, I've ordered multiple decks and sets of speakers at once to decide which I like once they have arrived and I've listened to them. One of their phone advisors told me to do this

Re: Does anyone in car audio know...

We just got the 9853 yesterday, may be a few days to get it on display, depends on Chris'(acrucrazy) bitch ass. Haven't seen the 9855. And yes, Glidetouch is awesome so you can scroll through your multitude of MP3's/WMA's much faster than other radios.

Re: Does anyone in car audio know...

Crutchfield is a rip off. Unless something has changed in the past 8 months, their prices suck.

Re: Does anyone in car audio know...

Their prices are almost always cheaper than Best Buy and I've had nothing but terriffic customer service from them. Probably bought stuff from them at least 10 times.

Re: Does anyone in car audio know...

We just got in the 53 last night, we sell the ipod interface, along with the Vseries amps, type S speakers and subs, and type R speakers and subs just came in last night also. We will be getting the 55, V12 amps, shortly, along with the in dash DVD.
Best buy is now the only NATIONAL retailer for alpine.
I myself, have alot to learn about them, as in my 7 years in BB car audio, ive never sold/instlaled there equip.
I looked at the type R subs today.. mmmmmmm drooool. the new model, with ribbed surrounds for greater excursion. 1500 watt DVC 10s.
I do have the new 53 on display today, but sold the only other one I had instock, along with my only type R 10s.

We also got the new Pioneer Avic N2, another touch screen pioneer DVD player, new rockford speakers, and power acoustic subs.
Its like Xmas all over.

On a note with Crutchfield, my first stereo equipment order was from there, i liked the service, prices were right at retail.

And for what you can get with sale prices at best buy, it more then pays for the shipping and free harnesses youd get at crutchfield.
Plus if you have an issue, and we install it, we can look at it, and if you have the PSP, we take care of it, parts, labor, install labor, shipping, replacement, for 4 years at no charge.

Your choice.
Come see me and alpine TSI.
Hes an alpine freak.

Re: Does anyone in car audio know...

I've never really been a huge fan of anything other then head units and screens from alpine. There subs are decent I suppose but there componets and 6x9's and what not aren't that good IMO.
