Well I am planning on having the car together and ready for the SO but I dont have a catback for the car. I only have exhaust up to the test pipe. So, if anyone could let me use their 2.5" AWD catback for about a week or so, let me know. I would appreciate it and also pay like a case of beer or 20 bux or something. Lemme know.

I really dont want to drive to OH with no cat back. I am also pretty sure that JDM doesnt wanna ride shot gun all the way without one either.

All I have in the garage is a 3" catback. If you wanted to use that you could.

Well, if you can wait till the shootout, you have plenty of time to buy one... Elite ordered one for me with next day shipping a year ago.

I cant order one cause I dont have the cash. I am going to Vegas about a week before the SO and that will either eat up a bunch of cash or give me more. I am guessing I will lose rather than win, we'll see.

Erik (Eirc?) I would love to use the 3" you have. Will I have a problem bolting that onto a 2.5" test pipe though?

I'm not sure. I'll talk to you about it a little later.

3" catback will bolt up just fine to a 2.5" testpipe as long as they both use the same style of flange (2-bolt pattern). On another note Joe, you are more than welcome to try out my 3" catback and see if it will fit your AWD. It was custom designed to eliminate the typical over the axle design of FWD catback exhausts so it may very well fit an AWD car or be easily modified to do so.

Mine has a 2-bolt pattern so it should work then. Which ever one you want to use is up to you. Mine is made for an AWD but I'm sure Chris' will work as well. Mine has the Hooker muffler on it with the twin 3" outlets (close to stock looking but bigger).

Mine has a Hooker Maximum Flow muffler with 4" chrome tip. I want to sell mine so we can talk if it fits your car. I can bring it with to All-You-Can-Eat-Hotdog-Fest.

Do you like the exhaust note of the Hooker mufflers Chris? I really liked the sound of mine. It had a nice mellow tone to it rather than being real raspy like others on the market. Mine is a Hooker Super Competition with Aero Chamber.

The Maximum Flow sounds really nice. It has a very deep throaty tone to it, but none of the raspy sharp notes of some mufflers. Rick Shindley even once said it was his favorite sounding DSM exhaust.

Hooker muffler sound like tractors at idle and it doesnt sound that great. its like put put put. It is quieter though than alot of other mufflers while still offering flow.

Obviously he has never had one on his car for any amount of time. I could see it making a put-put noise if you idle is fluttering but not when it's running correctly.

Like Chris said, it has a deep, throaty sound to it. If I wasn't creeping so bad with it was on my car, I would still have it on there. Once I upgrade my wastegate flapper and port the exhaust and O2 housings, it will probably go back on.

But that won't be for a little while. At least until I upgrade my turbo and injectors

Yea I have no problem with it and I might even switch to one if I replace my loud dynomax. The dynomax sounds nice but its noisy. Id switch to the hooker muffler because it is much quieter.

Yeah, if both of you can bring them down to the DynoFest that would be great. I would like to take a look at both of them and make a decision. Thanks a lot guys!
