thinking of selling my car

I was thinking of selling my evo 8 for some thing bigger for right now and I could use the extra cash to finish my house and pay some bill off. Then I am looking in to getting a jeep SRT8 or a trailblazer SS when the time come's. I think I might wait till summer to sell it and it's fix now. I plan on going to Db for a retune.

I am not giving up I need some thing bigger for my 2 kids. I would like to do a v8 rx7 again or a 4g63 AWD swap in one.

Huh? You want to ditch the evo to get a v8 rx7 because you have 2 kids?

Re: thing of

So is this a FS ad or are you just discussing the idea of selling your car with others? I'm a bit confused here. I'm also going to change the thread title for now.

Jeep SRT8's and Trailblazer SS' are not going to be any cheaper than your evo.....

Nor can they tow unless you get a custom hitch installed, I think.

Not to mention they get maybe 12mpg?

A V8 RX-7 will be a great family car. LOL

The idea of selling the Evo seems to be very flawed. You'll either get a RX-7 thats way less practical, breaks more often, and requires a lot more maintenance, or you'll get some big powerful SUV that requires an on-call tanker to drive around town.

...not to mention you have a 4 door, so not like strapping kids in the rear is that hard. Want something more "practical" get yourself a damn stratus. Otherwise, your kids will love you more if you keep this car.

Are you 100% sure the issue is fixed? Get re-tuned and just enjoy the car man! Evo > SRT8 and > RX7 IMHO.

They are about the same in cost. I have seen them as cheap as $19K and I did say I would have some bill payed off buy sell it. All I want is to have is a car and house payment and there mpg is not that bad.

I know that no one knows this but I HAVE NOT DRIVEN MY CAR FOR MORE THEN A WEEK cent's I have own it. All I have been doing is fixing it so that in is self make me mad for buying this evo. I got burned on it. Thats why I was thinking of sell it. If I did a rx7 again it would not be my DD and it would not have the rotary in it. My old lt1 fc was the most reliable I have ever had.

1. Don't buy POS hack-jobs.
2. Actually fix it properly or pay someone to who knows what they're doing.

Evos can be very reliable daily-drivers if you just take the time do stuff right.

All that the guy side to me is that it had a little oil leak and that He did know were it was coming from that's why I got a good deal on it. The oil was coming from the oil pump and then I had to fix other thing that I DON"T KNOW ABOUT. I need to stop buying other people POS the last two car I have had I had to put a lot of money in to. I really like my car but with me putting all this money in to it make me mad. You shouldn't have to put almost $1500 in to car you just got. My thing is that I trust people way to much.

Not to be mean but you bought a seriously souped up older Evo and assumed there wouldn't be problems? Even brand new cars that are modded to that level can have expensive things go wrong.

There aren't many things on these cars that cost less than $1k to fix. The most reliable car that I ever owned was a Nissan Altima. The most boring car that I've ever owned was that Altima...

The trailblazer SS and Jeep SRT8 suck at mpg....

SS comes in at 13 city 16 hwy...
SRT8 comes in a 11 city and 14 hwy....

Thats just sad man, I'm sorry for you. I've put 60k mostly trouble-free miles on my evo and its been down for a week here or there, but often it was fixed on my schedule, with a bit of hurry to get it done quick.

I say work through the issues and make it a reliable DD. I've always told people to keep it simple and always always put maintenance over modding. 2.3+35R is wicked awesome but the can of worms that can come with it can be a nightmare, which you are in right now. Stock motor + stock frame turbo and a little octane (E85 or alky) can make killer power and be a lot more reliable, but it still can be a nightmare if you aren't careful.

Can't wait to see the new numbers!
