2g cam swap.

I recently sold my hks 264's to a friend of mine with a 2g (I own a 1g). When installing the intake cam, we notice that the cas has a spot to thread onto the cam, and the hks cam, does not have that threads to thread on there. Is there a different cas he has to use? I was under the impression that the cams were completely interchangeable.

Re: 2g cam swap.

I take it his car is a 97-99? I dont think the 97-99 CAS will work with those cams. He may need to convert to a 1g CAS.

Re: 2g cam swap.

He could drill/tap the cam like RRE used to do for people (maybe they still do).

Re: 2g cam swap.

There are a few machine shops locally that are familiar with doing this (tapping the hole to fit the 97-99 cas). If I remember correctly, Hopkins Napa has done more than a few of them as I've personally brought them there before.

Re: 2g cam swap.

He went ahead and drilled and tapped it himself. We were thinking that as an option before I posted this, just weren't sure about it. I'll update when I know how it turned out.

Re: 2g cam swap.

I hope he used a lathe or something to keep it concentric and centered
