MitsuStyle Spring 2009 Cruise - April 18-19, 2009!
We're heading to Alexandria, MN and I have some great twisties planned for the way there and the way back!
Dates: April 18-19, 2009
Meeting time/location: 9:00AM SHARP!!!/ Excelsior Cub Foods
Destination: Alexandria, MN
Distance: ~400 miles round-trip
Cost: $10/car; preregistration and online prepayment required!
Hotel: Country Inn & Suites
5304 Highway 29 South
Alexandria, MN 56308
(320) 763-9900
Please view the provided link to register, pay for the event, and to check out the up-to-date registration list! We've decided to do it this way to keep things as simplified as possible for the organizers so we can focus on the fun! Registration closes prior to the event so please register early.
Lunch on Saturday will be at a great local bar/restaurant we found who will be hosting a $5 sloppy-joe bar with the donation of a canned-food item ($7 w/o donation). They also have your typical bar menu fare (burgers, sandwiches, pizzas, etc.) if you don't want to partake in the sloppy joes. PLEASE BRING A CANNED-FOOD DONATION TO HELP A LOCAL FOODSHELF!
The hotel is $87/night if you prepay and $97/night if you want to be charged upon checkout and features free breakfast, free WiFi, and a pool so I think it will work out very nicely for the group. Suites and hot tub rooms are available for an extra charge of course.
I will also be passing out the map packets as usual at the meeting spot the morning of the cruise. As always, the $10 fee per car goes towards the expenses of planning the cruise. None of the money goes into my pocket, any proceeds are donated directly to the site.

We've already had 2 cruises to Duluth and I try to keep things fresh and new every time. The only reason we did Duluth twice is because we were able to take different routes and Duluth/Superior works out really well. If memory serves me correctly the hotel is around $85/night. It has a pool, hot tub, free breakfast, free WiFi, etc. so it should work out perfectly for the group.
P.S. Fatty, I deleted your post, I'm sure you can figure out why. I suggest you reread the first sentance of the first post.
P.P.S. I also have paid my $10 fee just like everyone else.

Re: MitsuStyle Spring 2009 Cruise - April 18-19!
I hope to make this as I haven't made one in a long time. Another 100 miles and we could extend the cruise to Fargo and hit up some of the local bars, and burn down SLS.
Also just an FYI for those who care. I drive past Alex a lot (but I take 94 the whole way) and making it there on E85 has never been an issue. And there is a station in Alex with E85

Re: MitsuStyle Spring 2009 Cruise - April 18-19!
I can't imagine the trip being over 200 miles one way and you lot not passing a single station there are a ton up 94 and 29.
I have no clue if I will be making this. But if there is a chance I will try.
Also, is it cool we bring others as long as they pay? or can I pay for everyone?

It is perfectly fine if you bring friends along. The fee is on a per car basis so feel free to have multiple passengers. If they would prefer to drive their own car have them register/pay on the site linked. Please explain to them beforehand on what is expected of them and what is and is not considered appropriate behavior on a group car cruise.

Is there anything? Citing the last one as my reference, I can't think of one thing that I would normally put on that list that we didn't do.
As I told Hughes tonight, I will not register for this until I've paid Andrew back for the hotel room for the last one. But yes, I am in, my bank account allowing.

For example, driving like a certain asshat in a yellow Cavalier did a few cruises ago. The biggest key is to be respectful of the group and other traffic on the roads.

Re: MitsuStyle Spring 2009 Cruise - April 18-19, 2009!
Kracka has, to my knowledge, picked out some great roads for us to take both there and back. Just about anywhere you go will have good bars to get hammered at.
What is there to complain about? It's going to be another great cruise and everyone should have an awesome time. $10 is not much, skip OC for a week and you'll be paid.
Let's make sure these cruises continue to happen people!!!!

I couldn't agree with this post any more. I've already spent 9 hours/450 miles pre-driving these roads and I'm going to have to do it again to make sure things go as smoothly and we have the best route as possible.

Who's complaining?
I registered, should end up being myself and Katy. If something happens and we can't make it, we'll be refunded right?

Just to answer some of the questions I'll say this: yes there'll be E85, the route will be awesome, and if you need to question anything about the trip, just look back and find me someone that had a bad time on any of our previous cruises.
Sign up, go get your car ready (NOW!) and get ready for some fun!

Re: MitsuStyle Spring 2009 Cruise - April 18-19, 2009!
Just curious, but why is it $10 straight away this time? All the previous fees were only $5, and correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't there a surplus from the fall cruise? I'm not complaining or anything, I'd just like to know if there's a reason for the increased fee.

Not to single you out my big sexy auto-parts slinging slut (sorry I haven't told you that in a while!), but it is this attitude that REALLY starts to take the fun out of organizing these types of events. Paypal should auto-deduct funds from your bank account if you paypal balance is not enough to cover what you're trying to pay.
What is more of a pita, 30 second or maybe a minute (really, that's all I spent signing up and paying) on the computer, or you remembering at some point in the next few months to give kracka or I some cash. Cash, you may say, right?
Now think of it the other way around. What's more of a PITA, getting $10 cash from 20 people over a few month period and keeping track of who's paid, how many people have signed up, constantly reporting that number back to people (cause everyone asks kracka or I that question at least 3 times between now and then), and then remembering who to harass (every day and even up to the day of the cruise), and then be exhausted from just dealing with just that task to the point of questioning why we actually take the time/energy to do these things.......or, not worrying about any of that, looking at the list provided by myautoevents.com periodically and then just get the cash after the event is over and the fun has already been had.
Again, help us help you! Constantly bugging people for the money the last few weeks before the cruise is a massive PITA, believe me. We put these cruises on for FUN and NOT FOR PROFIT.
