How to make a Quick 14B Car?
Anyone wanna just quick slap a list of some stuff I'd need to maybe run low 13's on a 14B (Just things to add power). Could I get to that goal with..., 3" exhaust, 1G ported cast exhaust parts, stock sidemount, race gas, boost controller, fuel pump?
Oh yeah It's a 92 awd 5 spd 6/4LSD w/ buschur 3"dp,tp,cb, shep stage 3, 2600w/6puck

Re: How to make a Quick 14B Car?
You could hit a low 13 with that no problem. I ran a 13.6 with boost controller, pump gas, 2.5" hacked cat-back and ghetto UICP. Full weight on snow tires.
SAFC and UICP should get you well into the 12's.

Just make sure you have the fuel to backup the boost

Re: How to make a Quick 14B Car?
I ran 12.99 @ 103 on my old AWD with an open downpipe, UICP, and some c16.
If you had safc 550's and a pump you could run that or better and not worry about blowing up.

Re: How to make a Quick 14B Car?
Yea, go for it! Exhaust, fuel pump, 550's, and an afc. 2G mas for good measure, crank up the boost to about 25, drop the tire pressure in the front to about 17psi, and maybe about 13-15psi in the rear, and then get some good clean launches. Shit, you could run high 12's on that setup if you can drive well enough!

Re: How to make a Quick 14B Car?
My girlfriend wents high 12s many times and 108mph with the 14B, air filter, 2.5" turboback exhaust, mbc, fuel pump, a homemade upper i/c pipe that didn't seem to help and race gas. Cher went something like 12.6 with similar basic mods. Someone else on here went low 12s with the 14B.
A 2G MAS, 550s, SAFC, FMIC, etc would be nice for tuning it.

Re: How to make a Quick 14B Car?
Are you guys serious? Wow, if this is true then maybe i should think about keeping my B16G with pretty much the above mods, plus dsmlink, but minus the FMIC/pipes (i am stock IC system right now).
Sleepy good to hear that you are getting back in the game!!

Re: How to make a Quick 14B Car?
13.4@98mph.
1.70x 60' 3bolt FTW!! .
Mods:
s-afc, 3" 02 back exhaust, 2g mas in a 1g airbox setup, homebrewed intake pipe, aeromotive fpr, act 2600, walbro 255hp. Stock injectors, motor, etc... This was back in 2003?
Another mod, 90psi compression in cylinder #1, 135+ on the other 3.
15psi, 92 octane. Full weight.
Once I broke the 3 bolt the next pass at the track, I tossed in a 4 bolt and turned up the boost to 18psi, much faster.
I think nash then took this car put on his fmic, 660's, heads w/cams and 20g and went 11.6?
It really isn't that hard to get a strong 14b car into the low 13's, high 12's.

Kevin, make it light. I guarantee if a 14b on race gas/stock motor was put into my white car it would go high 11s easy at about 113-114 no problem.

Re: How to make a Quick 14B Car?
Alright, so I need to at least get a pump (duh). I'll probably buy a FMIC, but I need to wait until I get my bill from Shep haha.

Re: How to make a Quick 14B Car?
Can't you get a MAF-T setup to do something similar to what a s-afc does?

Re: How to make a Quick 14B Car?
I have a MAFT actually, and a 91 EPROM. just get some injectors, and maybe get a RACE GAS chip burnt? And then just run 15ish psi on pump? Eh maybe I should just get DSMLink. Can someone tell me if you can save different "maps" on DSMLink?

Just get the turbo ported. Much easier and cheaper.

Hey what would you use to port it, carbide bits, grinding stones, sanding rolls? Could you use Carbide bits with a dremel? Or would something like that be better suited to an air-powered grinder?

Re: How to make a Quick 14B Car?
After just finishing a porting job myself, GET A DAMN CARBIDE BIT!!!! I did a stock 1g mani and wish i hadn't been cheap. I got the carbide bit on the last night of porting. Cut the time in half, easy. Use the carbide to take out larger pieces of the metal and get the areas ground down, then use a stone to smoth them out. Follow up with some sand paper to get it nice and smooth and your all set.
