What to do with this....
I have this huge rust spot on my roof that is deep, like some one had previously bondo-ed the hood and its coming off now. I want to start doing the body work and have it painted, but I don't know what to do with it. It's about a centimeter or more deep. Any advice?

Buy a rust free car? Like...a conquest? 
I'm no body expert, but I'd say to just sand it all off, and build it back up with something, then smooth over. Someone on this site will know what to do for sure though. |

Unreal: haha It doesn't have a name, but I've dubbed it my boyfriend since boys suck and I love my car more than any boyfriend haha! And yah, I planted myself right on the hood by the wipers haha!
Tom: I was thinking that. Like cut a hole and duct-tape a piece of plexi glass to the roof...
Peter: Yah I think getting a new shell is going to be easiest. Actually I think what is going to end up having to happen [unfortunately] is I'm going to have to buy a beater AND a shell, wait until winter though, and spend the winter doing the motor swap and maybe some add ons  Have her all ready to go in the spring. Which will be a little disappointing. First winter to ever own an awd vehicle [besides my old Explorer] and I don't even get to have any fun with it! |

I needed to throw away my power sunroof because it weighed a ton, so I found some sheetmetal pros and they did this for me. It ended up being about $250.

For about $300 you could get a cheap pop-up sunroof installed in your car, that may be your best bet. It won't add too much weight and it'll be a cool addition in the process (much better than a piece of sheet metal IMO since this is your daily).
