Neon color everything, lots of stickers, decrease ride quality for looks instead of function, anything to get attention.
I am interested to see this car done though, it's nice color and it sounds like he wants it setup to be a great all around car

Re: 2011 Sti Build ?
Thanks Aaron i do want it to be an all around car to be able to drive it almost everyday in the summer and also be able to use it at the track to take down the strip and also autox it.

Re: 2011 Sti Build ?
Subaru's don't have very good oiling systems, the oil pressure usually starts dropping at high rpm and makes it more likely to spin a rod bearing.

Re: 2011 Sti Build ?
Will you have to do oiling mods for this next motor?
6266 is sick! Hopefully the extra .5 will spool it a lot nicer vs a dsm

The extreme length of the header and how far the turbo turbo is away from the head exhaust ports makes them laggy. A 2.0l Evo with a 16G will decently outspool a 2.5l STI with a 16G. The Evo has the turbo 6 inches from the exhaust ports and also twin scroll. With the newer FA WRX, Subaru mounted the turbo under the motor, so the routing is much much shorts and they are using twin scroll now too.

Re: 2011 Sti Build ?
Good luck on the build. It will fun to watch you build a nice all round car. 550 whp is plenty of power for any car.

Re: 2011 Sti Build ?
Thank guys. And aaron for oiling ill be running a bigger oil pump to try to help out a little bit. And yea the turbo is mounted a ways away so it does take a bit to spool. But thats the fun part lol. I will go forward facing at some point to make a little spool time faster.

Re: 2011 Sti Build ?
You could always run a big shot of gas to help spool quicker. Lol jk.

Re: 2011 Sti Build ?
Little update on the Sti. Started to assemble the shortblock a little got my acl oil pump on and it looks great. Will be throwing on my killer b oil pickup tomarrow and thats mostly all i can do for now. Heads i ill be getting back at the begining of march as we are waiting on gsc to get cams sent out so we can check valve clearences.

Re: 2011 Sti Build ?
hmm wonder if i should do a build thread of my car... I've got a gen2 6266 on my sti, spool isn't bad. Full boost around 5500. its a fun ass turbo, hits hard. you planning on staying on pump gas? I don't think 1300s will get you very far on e85, looks like a solid build though!
