Piston Rod Shot Through Block 100k
I just bought a 2g and I have only had it for about 3k, I was driving home and I heard a loud boom. Of course the tow truck towed it home. I looked under the hood and there is a hole in the block just to the left of the dipstick. Should i just rebuild my 7bold since there is not many miles or should i build up a 6bolt and swap it in. Any seggestions would be awsome. Thanks again

Re: Piston Rod Shot Through Block 100k
You can't rebuild a block with a big ol' hole in the side of it. Do the 6 bolt swap and be done with it.

i hear that 7 bolts these days are just as good. that's what i've come to believe.
you could swap in a SBC 350 and be done.

Huh? Do you believe in Santa Claus too?
Do the 6 bolt and be done with it. Better yet just do a 2.4L.

Do the 6 bolt. I've played the 7 bolt card twice and regretted it both times.

Hey they proved Santa Claus is real in the Cronics of Narnia, The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe.

Please explain the difference to me between the 2.0 6bolt and the 2.4 6 bolt when it comes to a "daily driver".
Odds are he would build both motors....

figured there would be more downtime with the 2.4L build, while the 2.0 would just be a buy and pry.
but if he's building both
2.4.

Good point .
Both can be interesting to find as far as cores are concerned at times.
