This is a lift I made in Baytown, Texas. I was the supervisor over structural iron & rigging departments. Several things went wrong on this particular lift. The vessel showed up early, someone from the plant routed it through the unit and got it stuck, the vessel showed up differently than the equipment drawing I was given because of that it didn't fit down into the structure like it should have, the crane showed up late.... It was one problem after another. Even with those setbacks we still got the job done in the scheduled time and still had 15 minutes to spare. That picture is a reminder of two big things for me. First, the great bunch of guys that didn't get discouraged, they just moved on. With workers like that you can accomplish anything. Secondly, these are the kinds of things that can happen every time we plan any sort of lift.
