Spring is here! Take out the Video Camera!
Well with spring here I just want to open this up for anyone who knows they will be taking video of there spring/summer/fall fun of racing. I am going to offer up the ability to host ALOT of video clips this year for the members of the site. So please email me ( dsmstyle@dsmstyle.com ) or PM me with video info. I can accept the videos via AIM, Yahoo, or even MSN if needed. You can send me a CD or DVD with them if you want as well. And I am working on setting up FPT access that's secure for people to upload them. We want to see these cars in action this year. Be it Auto X, Rally X, Road Race, or Drag Racinfg. I will be usuaing some of the footage to make a few DSMStyle.com videos unless you tell me not to before hand.
Also some one you know about the "street" section of the site and any video surrounding that area if there is any will be kept within those secure walls.

Re: Spring is here! Take out the Video Camera!
YOu can usually just stream all the footage to one file and them put it on a cd.
By the end of summer I want to have a few DSMStyle Videos out on DVD/CD.

Re: Spring is here! Take out the Video Camera!
Just bring cameras to gatherings and all that shit. It doesn't have to be just racing and stuff.

Re: Spring is here! Take out the Video Camera!
Is there a way to blur up license plates? I think that would be a very good thing to do! How much will they cost? I will definitly buy this shit because I'd like to show my friends what DSMs can do. Of course they like the SVT cobras and all that great shit... This is a GREAT way to PROVE IT!!!

Re: Spring is here! Take out the Video Camera!
I probably won't worry much about blurring the plates as most of the videos will be of legal racing and such. If need be I will see what I can do.
But a few things I'd like to get on video if possible is :
1G or 2G FWD DSM burning having a little burnout contest with a cop? I may have to go back home to IA for this one but if anyone can get something like this pulled off It woudl be sweet.
Also if your working on a DSM and have a camera around film some shit. Engines comming out or going in? Anything at all. I might be able to use it.
As for what a DVD will cost? Probably as much as the DVD and Case costs me. I currently have almost 200 blank DVDs in front of me and at best I would charge the cost of them and maybe tack on a buck each for the time and hosting fees as some of the videos will be online as well. You'd be looking at the DVDs at $5.00 or under.

Re: Spring is here! Take out the Video Camera!
This sounds like a great idea!
You could also have a blooper reel on the end of a DVD showing DSMs blowing up drivelines and stupid DSM owner shinnannigans.
I have TONS of footage of style members racing last year, and footage from the shootout last year. You are welcome to it if you want it AJ.

Re: Spring is here! Take out the Video Camera!
Well if you use the "blooper" section of DSMs blowing up, the blooper section will be bigger then the rest of the video...........
PIZZZZZOWEN3D!
All in good fun.

Re: Spring is here! Take out the Video Camera!
I still have footage from a few years ago when we were still out on Uni. Some of the rallycrosses and such.
I think we could use them as prizes as well. Maybe I can work on a DSMStyle calender for next year. Start up the member of the month thing again and post a pic of their car for the corresponding month next year. Or something to that effect. It would have all the regular holidays along with most of the car shows and racing events for the year (plus a little area to add in ones that aren't there). What do you think??

Re: Spring is here! Take out the Video Camera!
Member of the month has just never worked that well. If I did it again it wouldn't start till next Jan. I don't want to use that much older footage but will definatly be open to some.

Re: Spring is here! Take out the Video Camera!
I woudl also love to see some video of some DSMs in the rain. So next storm if anyone feel like going out to play film it. Parking lot drifting, or something that looks sweet on camera but won't get you busted or cause any accidents.

Re: Spring is here! Take out the Video Camera!
You know at my school we have video production and shit and i know people there who if we paid them we could get a bunch of footage and then go to them and get them to make everything look real nice and pretty for footage for the dsmstyle website, my school just bought a really expensive program and new computers that come with dvd burning drives and software - i forgot the name of the video production program but all the major movie people use the program to make the movies we see at the movie theater, i can find out more if you want me to.

Re: Spring is here! Take out the Video Camera!
I'm not paying someone for something I can do on my own. I have made videos in the past that have turned out decent for the quality of footage and time spent on them. I have audio programs to mix up a good track, pinnacle editing software, dvd burner, and a faster better performaning computer. It's a good suggestion, but there is no budget for anything like this right now.
On a side note, I have some footage from Matt R already. I know the weather is extremly shit now but get out there with those cameras!

Re: Spring is here! Take out the Video Camera!
well i mean i could do it to, i would just need dvd cd's and alot of footage and time - i seriously can't remember the software that is used - so i could do it and get alot of help from the guys who now how to do all that shit - let's just say i can put the footage on - mix in audio - do a few effects to make it look decent and walahh! u got urself a decent video for dsm style - but in the mean time don't expect me to follow through on any of this - school is almost out and i'm preparing myself for work all summer. if u get me information right now i can start on the dsm video - for free cuz i'll be doing alot of it and then during the summer i can get some buddies of mine to work on it.

Re: Spring is here! Take out the Video Camera!
Thanks for the offer, but I am going to be able to do all this myself. I would hate to outsource something that I enjoy doing, and can do just as easily.
