AC Or No AC That Is The Question

In my 98 Eclipse Spyder what do you think I should do? I said take the bitch out for less work for me to put it back together. Then my Female friend said but what about those hot days that you just dont wanna have your top down. When nice cold air is better. Then that got me thinking about not taking it out. What do you guys think I should do. I would be easiest to do now since the motor is out right now.
Thanks,
Mike

IS IT a all out track car only? if not keep it, you wont kick yourself latter.... It can always come out latter if you really really want it gone. Im trying to put ac onto my wagon right now.

I say toss it. IMO there are too many negatives when you combine performance car and AC. I almost ALWAYS give up luxuries for speed, weight, cleanliness, simplicity, etc. However, as already stated, you COULD take it out later if you choose to, and it's easier to take it out than put it in.

Re: AC Or No AC That Is The Question

I left mine in as it is a daily driver, if it saw a lot of track use I would probably remove it. It is so nice to have AC on hot summer days in rush hour.

I do not have any engine cooling issues with my FMIC, AC, and radiator in place. My car runs around 185-195 degrees in the summer.

Re: AC Or No AC That Is The Question

If it is your daily driver I would probably leave it in. I took it out of my silver car when it was still my daily driver and didn't miss it much. I had a fair amount of other weight reduction done already. The spyder is heavier to begin with so you probably won't see much of a difference in performance

I removed mine, yes is sucked on those 5 really hot days during the summer, but it sure made the engine bay cleaner and a lot easier to work on.

I say keep it unless it doesnt work. If its your daily I would keep it, Im doing that... If I was the only person ever in my car I could live without it but if you have a gf then you should probably keep it lol.

Whenever I get around to it I am going to pull the AC on my Laser. Honestly I really don't like air conditioning, it usually gives me a headache. I'd much rather just roll down the windows, pop open the sunroof, and get some airflow.

Take it out, no ac in my ACR or SRT, or PWS for that matter.

Re: AC Or No AC That Is The Question

I have A/C in the minivan, I have it in the Audi, but none of my dsms, it just makes everything engine wise too hot. Who wants to drive around if you cant enjoy anything with the windows open or top down anyways. The only time I had a problem with it was when it was humid and raining, and I still had the sun roof vented a little.
