Can't Wait to Hear the Replies...
Well, I think I am going to buy a new car. I work out at Polar Chev/Mazda and I can get some pretty nice deals on cars they have on the lot. The other day my winter beater went off the deep end so the hunt began. I have decided on a 1999 Acura Integra LS. Before everyone goes nutty, lemme give a few details. The car has just shy of 50k on the ticker and is in IMMACULATE condition. An older lady owned the car prior and decided to trade it on a new Mazda. I can buy the car for about 9k while it blue books for just over 11k. The car is a 5spd with power everything and a moonroof, but it is bright red. (Oh well)
Just thought I would share about a new possibility. Also, I wanted to hear all the flames. Just so you all know, I will NOT be going rice style with this car if I do get it. Just a nice DD to have that I know will be reliable. Let the trash talking begin.

Sounds nice man. No flames coming from me...too bad it isn't a GS or GSR (gotta love V-TEC), but oh well. Is it a 2 or 4 door?

Don't do it!! Bright red sucks ass! I hadn't had a ticket in 7 years, then I get my red talon and get 2 in 6 months!! Hold out for some other color. 9k seems really high too. My boss just bought a new 2004 Ranger 4x4 extended cab for $14.5k! That was a 4.0 V6 with A/C. I just think 9k is pretty high for a 6 year old car that was way under $20k when new.

Not a bad car, I'd at least put a security system in it depending on where you live.

After checking with Edmunds, that price does seem to be well above average.

trip wire your motor to a claymore so WHEN someone tries to steal it, they blow themselves up. And the car... (insurance)

my buddy drove a red gsr with the jdm type-r front end conversion. Still never got a ticket in the thing. Oh and it had a b16 Block swapped into it he found out later on, kinda screwy but whatever. It was a nice daily driver that's for sure. He sold it for a 91 gsx though!!

I'd say if you do anything to it, do the JDM front clip conversion. I HATE the bubble lights.

Agreed. There is a yellow Type-R here in Duluth with the '98 JDM conversion and it looks bad ass. I'd deffinately recomend doing that if you decide to do any work with the car.

Here's a couple pics of what the JDM front looks like on my buddies red GSR. Don't mind us lookin like fags next to our cars in the first pic.

From what I understand the LS model is a good base for a turbo setup, doesn't someone @ elite have one with a 60-trim on it?
Integras are fun cars. Not as fast as a dsm, but they sure take beating well. I drove my bro's for a while ('91) and that thing was fun, purely for the obnoxious factor. check out the pipes:
Get a decent alarm, though. I live in NW minneapolis, in a nice neighborhood and newer integras get broken into and stolen all the time (in front of my own house)

(the guy that owned the black integra pictured here came back to visit me once with his girlfriend...I left for work in the morning and he called me...hey, ah...do you know where beth's car went? we found it stripped out in the city morgue)

Hughes, its a 2-door.
I know, I wasnt really happy with the color either, but I dont drive all that crazy. I would like to throw that JDM front clip on it. I have seen a few around town and they look 2x better.
Mr Raced has a full turbo kit he wants to sell me for the car. Supposedly the 1.8 block is a better block to turbo on than most other Honda bottom ends. But, only time will tell.
I didnt think the price was too bad. Like I said, blue book on the car is over 11k. But, I still think I am going to buy the car, then some graphics and a sweet neon kit.
