NBA Players vs Detroit Fans
Whats everyones opinion on the fight last night in Detroit. If you haven't seen if turn on ESPN, it will be on every ten minutes all day. It was the worst thing I have even seen in a NBA game.
I think the fans that threw things at players and ended up getting punched got exactly what they deserved. They shouldn't be exempt from getting retaliated against if they were acting threatening. If you put any of them fans face to face with them athletes they would turn and fucking run.
What the Pistons fans did was a total disgrace.

Front the brief highlights I saw on the news last night along with reading about it online it looks as if Ron Artest is going to be lucky if he ever plays ball again.

Watch ESPN and you might change your opinion. He was actually just laying on the scorers table and a fan threw a whole cup of something at him. Thats what started it all, it was almost under control when that happened.

I'll have to do that when I get home. Have they had any comments from David Stern or any of the NBA higher-ups?

David Stern hasn't commented yet, I think they are still reviewing tapes from the game. I have to say one thing though, there was no shortage of coverage since it was a nationwide telivised game on ESPN. So everything was caught on tape. Its going to be interesting what fines/suspensions/lawsuits are going to come after this is all sorted out.

I think football wanted the attention back and yet another fight got some of that back. First some NFL bad boy fighting, then the NBA, and now the NCAA? What's next? Golf Riots?
And I am on the side of most fans. They have a "certain" right to heckel the Pros a bit but yes they went to far. But for a Pro player to not be able to contol himself either is just wrong with what all went down. I hope the fans get what they deserve, but I also think the players should never play another game again.

That's what happens when you let thugs play sports, and try to act professional. They're like wild animals just waiting to snap and have their instincts kick in.

All I have to say about the fans is that in this case if they threw shit at the players or came on the court and threatened the players and got fucking punched in the face they got exactly what they deserved. The heckeling and yelling at the players is part of the game and I for one are the worst heckelers when I go to games.
All things aside, I didn't even care about the players and fans fighting that much, the thing I will remember from it is the kids crying and looking really affraid.

They just issued the suspensions for the players. Ron Artest is doen for the season and the rest are gone for 6-30 games. All with NO pay. The right move buy really hitting them where it hurts. In reality this cost Ron a SHIT LOAD of cash this year.

I guess this is big deal. All i can say is that if i were at a game of any kind and this happened i would feel that i got my money's worth. Everyone should just not care so much, they are sports, it doesn't matter.

11, yes just over ELEVEN, MILLION is what just 3 players on the Pacers will give up this year for the non paid suspensions. 11 FUCKING MILLION is what these guy where going to make for work that is considered fun to most. 11 FUCKING MILLION for less that 150 days of total work with all of the days/games added up.
When that's put into perspective I say ban'em for life.
