Race gas
OK I know this doesn't matter a whole lot because the racing season is over; but.... I found a good retailer who carries Race gas all year round. it's 110 octane 4% lead (thats bad right?) but the company has many stations that carry it as well as the 97 unleaded
so my question is: is 110 leaded gas alright to run and it not kill my O2 sensor?

Leaded fuel is what kills O2 sensors.

Alright let me rephrase that 
Is there an O2 sensor i can get that is able to run with leaded gas... or is leaded gas just bad in general?
(i think there was already a post about leaded gas :s )
is there anyother thing that should be done if you are going to run leaded gas???

If replacing your O2 sensor every year bothers you, dont use it.

Lead is good for everything else though. I say run it when you need it and don't when you don't. Replace the O2 once a year and have fun!

Or just keep a spare o2 to swap in when you feel like running race gas. Then swap back when you refill with 92 oct

I have had good luck with running race gas on my stock 80,000 mile 02 sensor. I would run "race" about every other weekend throughout the last two summers and the o2 sensor is still working good.

A tankful now and again won't kill your o2 sensor too quickly...it took about 2 years to start affecting mine.

Does the 02 sensor do anthing besides be used for logging purposes for us?

so this might seem like a dumb quesiton now but... how do you tell when your O2 sensor starts to go?
and all of you who have been running leaded gas.... you're still using the "stock" O2 sensors right? now a wideband?

If you have a logger of some type that will give real time display of the O2 sensor, it will start to slow down it's rate of sweep and the voltage change will become less and less as it gets worse. I had my O2 sensor start to be affected by race fuel and once I put super unleaded back in and hammered on the car a few times, it went back to working normal again with no problems.

A bad o2 sensor can cause poor fuel mileage at cruise....other than that, nothing. A CEL will only occur when the o2 sensor goes dead (at least from my experience). It is really easy to tell when it starts to go bad just by watching a logger or an o2 voltage monitor.

BUT, you can not have a catlytic converter when using leaded gas, you must have a test-pipe.
