Well, I sold the pistons out of my engine because I am building a 2.4L from scratch. I was pulling the rods out and noticed that Rick mixed up 2 of the rod caps! They are numbered and 2 of them were switched around!! That is always a great thing to see. If you want it done right, you have to do it yourself!
I will give QPR a shot too, because I know and trust those guys too. Well, maybe not Allan!! :stick:

I think most people realize I am not going in with Mike and Josh for my Die hard tuning knowledge or engine building background. Oh I will bust my ass to learn and improve on what I do know, But we each have our backgrounds and areas that will benifit the shop.
But back to the topic, That sucks to hear JET, but hopefully yhat 2.4 will just fucking rock!

Thanks for the comments JET and we are looking forward to checking out the 2.4 when you are done.
Hey Allan, get me a torque wrench biatch!
J/K Allan is an asset to the shop in many ways and for the areas he needs experience in, I don't expect it will take long for him to be fully up to speed. We all have our stronger areas, it is turning out to be a very good mix.

They are Eagle rods. I am going to have them resized and use them in my 2.4L. I have heard some bad things about the Eagles not being perfectly round. With the HP I plan on making I am almost tempted to sell the Eagles and get some Crowers.
Then if I am going to buy rods, then I could go with the longer rods and get the better rod ratio out of them, but then the wrist pin is in the bottom ring of the piston. I am still up in the air a little bit, but I am pretty sure I will just use the Eagles and new Wiseco's.

didn't know weisco made rods .
For the dsm's there are three equally good options, light, heavy, and heavier (eagle, crower, and pauter). I think the eagle incorperate I beam, while the other two use H (or is it the other way around), I originally chose the eagles because they are lighter than the other two options and cheaper AND rotating mass is a bad thing. And to the best of my knowledge no-one has broken any of them due to shear power, maybe its best to stick with what you have.
What brand rod does marco use for his motors?
thanx for the shout out jet btw .

Pauter.
Marco lightens them on the stage 4 motors. That's what he's doing with mine, including the pistons and crank.

I actually forgot to check the oil squirter, but I will take a look at it now that the rods are out of the way.

Yeah, that could be a bit of a problem. Even though they have some quality issues for not having the journals sized correctly, the cap and rod would be matched from the factory. An honest mistake, but one that shouldn't have happened. Have them resized and reuse them.
