Fancy or unfancy beer storage devices

Fiq. It would be better to just start this instead of filling up the fancy beer with the fridge build.

So post your fancy or unfancy beer storage device.

Re: Fancy or unfancy beer storage devices

The new kegarator. Turing my 50's fridge in to a 3 keg (5.5 gal) kegarator. I got some parts off craigs list for dirt cheap and the rest from mike for some beer.

All the parts I got off Craig's list also got a 5lb co2 tank for 80.00
After I rebuilt them all

Going to have them out the door. Got the 7/8 shank holes drilled. Found out that the shanks I had where going to be to short to go all the way through. Would have needed to get 3 6" long shanks at 30.00 each.

So I ended up taking out the egg shelf and butter storage. They will go back in. I cut the back of the fridge door out so I could use the shanks I had.

Made a filler panel for the hole and so I can get the jam nuts tight on the shanks

In its hole

Shanks installed. Just need to get one more tap.

Just need to get some white duck tape to Finnish it off and put the shelf and butter holder back in.

Re: Fancy or unfancy beer storage devices

Good idea Mark.

Here is what I have....

Found this on craigslist this summer for a killer deal.

Then did some upgrading to it. Added a second tap, a C02 manifold, and some lines to run use homebrew kegs. I also added a couple homemade tap handles. One of them is a cam from Scheides old Evo 8. The other is a twins logo CNC'd into plastic as a test for the same thing in a baseball bat handle. I have a few other ideas in the works.

Also added a $25 fish tank temp controller. Wired it into an outlet to control the fridge temp.

Recently added a third C02 line so I can run one Sanke keg and 2 home brew kegs. I have another tap but haven't had a chance or need to put it on yet.

My not so fancy beer storage is in an extra cabnet in the basement. It houses my homebrew currently. 2-1 gallons of a burbon barrel cherry stout and 3 gallons of bourbon barrel ale in there currently. Should be ready in August at the earliest.

Moved everything around today. Put the fridge out at the bar. Moved the bar and put the pop machine on the other side.

Re: Fancy or unfancy beer storage devices

found this for a good deal on CL have been looking for one for a few years now and they always sell for over 100.00. Surly takes them back if the bar stops selling there beer and they dont sell them at all.

before some one painted black for some reason

after last night my dad brought it with to work and glass beaded it so it is now back to what it should look like.

I really like my beertender. Have not used it since x-mas. Think I should sell it now that I have the 3 taps in the fridge

Haha, yeah... we usually get 5 gallon kegs. They last a good 2 months when kept on C02. We also end up having people over a lot during the summer post volleyball or softball games, so they go a bit faster then.

The pop machine is always full of my rare 12oz bottles. It holds 49 bottles on the shelfs and 12 more in 2 storage areas.
The mini fridge is always full of tall boy cans, bombers and bigger glass bottles and weird size and shape bottles.
The I.H. 50's fridge is set up for 3 5 gallon kegs. or can run a 16 gal and a 8gal on top if I wanted to but having 3 5's is best.
Also have a beer celler with 20+ 750ml and 10+ bombers for aging.

Agreed! I have a similar set up as mark.. Mini fridge with rare big bottles, cellar with a bunch of bottles aging, and then normal beer in the kitchen fridge, and the keg fridge has 1-3 5 gallons in it. Also I have anywhere from 5-20 gallons of homebrew fermenting at a time .
