Got a big dog? Look inside!

My buddy just started this site:

http://www.collarwise.com

Lots of good info and its a local company to buy from, kinda neat.

Or, get a beagle/small dog and not worry about stuff like this

Re: Got a big dog? Look inside!

I'm the owner of CollarWise...

I can try to get you guys deals, but it's a little wonky how some of the manufacturers have pricing restrictions and such. I could lose my dealer status if I do something wrong. Plus, it's quite difficult at this point to do discounts on a case by case basis since we don't have the ability to do a coupon system (yet).

We DO sell items below the MAP pricing guidelines now. You just have to add the product to your cart to see the price, I'm sure you've seen the same thing elsewhere on other types of products.

As a note, e-collars aren't just for big dogs. They are for reinforcing commands that the dog already knows but chooses to disobey. In fact, with smaller dogs, it's really one of the only ways to give a physical correction and still be gentle about it. One of the most effective methods of using the collar for smaller/soft dogs is to turn it all the way down, hold the continuous button and turn it up slowly until the dog looks around or gives some indication that he can barely feel it. This is the level you leave it at. Something this low is just a tingle to the dog, it doesn't hurt, but it's a reminder to him that you're in control when you nick him with it. If your dog yelps when you nick him, it's turned up way too high. Our feeling is that you cannot properly train most dogs using just treats and markers (clicker, praise), you also need to use corrections, and an e-collar is the most humane way to do that. All-positive training is a huge reason many dogs end up being given away or put down, because their owners cannot control them and give up.

Used properly, these things are like magic. Many of our collars come with a training DVD to show you how to use them. Unfortunately, we didn't get it in the description for the ones that did. If you have any question as to whether or not one has a DVD with it, contact us. I'll shortly have this denoted for each product.

And yes, I've put one on my own neck.

I prefer a swat to the nose or a nice firm kick

I've been thinking about getting one of those e collars for Titan. Seems like you have pretty good pricing!
