a new gjuy here

hello everyone,
i am a happy new 1G owner. i have been looking for a new go fast have fun car for a bit now and so i started looking at dsms and my friend of mine found one for me. hes a member on here batmobile2417, so last saturday morning we went and looked at it and a couple of hours later i got a 93 6 bolt swap gsx!! it was actually for sale on here. but im not a complete newbe when it comes to dsms, i have helped 4g63tcrazy with his car and helped batmobile with his also.

but my car has a freshly rebuild 6 bolt
SCM61 turbo
web 272
brian crower springs and retainers
fmic
turbo back and all of the other goodies.
it has a 4 bolt rear end waiting to go in along with a brand new 2900 plate

so on sunday morning i started to work on it, first thing i did was a boost leak test and i found a huge leak, welded up that on the upper intercooler piping, then i sold batmobiles 2g maf off of his car sense it doesnt work right now, and stopped venting the bov. car pulls much harder and better now. just gotta work out the studder before boost. going to do another boost leak test, and change plugs to start with and go from there.

but for some mods that im going to do is get eculink, bigger injectors and some corn and see what kinda damage i could do with that set up.

im not completely new with turboed cars, my last fun go fast car was a 99 pontiac GTP that i did a turbo swap on it with a built trans and ST3 turbo cam. my best numbers with that car where 432whp and 390wtq off of 18 psi and i ran a 11.3@127 at the track off of 21psi. had alot of fun with that car but i wanted something that i could get some traction with on the street and track. here are some videos of the car.

track day

dyno tuning at maps old shop

im sure i will have questions and alot of reading up to do on dsms. thanks

jeff

Hey, I think I've seen your car on MNGP. Pretty sick man, fuck those hondas. Even with a turbo and v-tak a simple gm W body put them to shame.

Welcome!

BTW, he was running 11.5's and quicker, his trap was more mid 120's. Either way he was kicked off.. haha

Re: a new gjuy here

thanks for all of the welcomes everyone.

but i wish my GTP was trapping 130+, but i think the time when you seen me go down the track my best was a 11.4@124 with a 1.8X 60 ft. and my pb with that car is a 11.3@127 with a shitty 1.9X 60 ft.

but does my car already have a 4 bolt rear end in it? that would be pretty sweeeeet if it did! could anyone tell me when they started putting 4 bolts in dsms? thanks

jeff

Somebody probably stole it for a different car. You physically looked under the car?

Re: a new gjuy here

Check under the car, count the bolts on the axles where they mount to the hubs. I've seen late model 92's with 3 bolts in them, most of the time I think someone swapped them out for a 3 bolt.

Welcome to the forums! Good work with the GTP.
