I wouldn't buy that. It will not bolt up to a dsm at all. If you have a 2g, just buy a 14b. Nothing would fit on that turbo. It is probly for a silvia (sr20det) motor.

Just call up FP and order yourself a big-T28, Jeremy Brandt ran a 12.2 in his '99 GSX with the FP T28 (I believe his was the older version though.) Plus it's on sale right now for $725 and someone correct me if I'm wrong with this, but it is a direct bolt on for your Spyder.

Jakey, you are right that it is a direct bolt on. A 14b would be much more ecomomical though. Dsmdude ran 12.5 on a 14b, FMIC, dsmlink, and 660's. Fast and cheap. What more could you want?

Alotta weight reduction should be added to that list for dsmdude's car.

I'm just a little bit confused here. I was under the impression that T28's would bolt directly to the 97 Spyder GST that I have in place of the T-25. Jake posted the FP Big T28 would bolt; why wouldn't this one? Is there something Im missing?

Thanks!

Jim

Yeah.. weight reduction. Not going to happen on the spyder; also it's hella heavy (34xx lbs). I was seriously considering a 14b, but after a 2G Install Kit, the price of a decent 14b with low miles and the kit, comes out to be just a bit less then a direct bolt on T28? Atleast I think, plus it allows me to look head in case I want more power on tap, the turbo can flow it.

My last car, I ghetto'd everything about it, now I kinda want to just do everything right the first time.

That turbo will not bolt onto a DSM. It uses a true T25 flange, which is not what is found on the T25 on a DSM. A T28 made for a DSM, like the FP big T28, will bolt right up though.

We put a 14b on ghettostyles car. It is a cheap upgrade.
14b $130 (33k)
j pipe ($75)
Stock 1g oil lines (took from my car)
total cost for him was $205

that is quite a bit cheaper than a T28.

You do not need a "kit." The hardest part to find is a j-pipe. The oil lines you can get off a 1g or from mitsu. Mitsu is expensive though. You can use your stock coolant lines. You can talk to QPR about making a j-pipe. They are quite a PITA to make though.
