I'm gonna buy some injectors and safc from this guy on dsmtuners. I was wondering if anyone has used paypal before? How does it protect the buyer? Any other recommendations of how to pay for it?

if you have any suspicion on the seller paypal offers "protection" for a % of the sale.

Also another good way of doing it is using cc thru paypal, that way you can do both, cc fraud as well as paypal fraud in case they do end up not sending you the product.

And beleive me i've had to use it on some dirt bag dsmtrader sellers!!!

I haven't used escrow, but I have heard it is a good way to protect yourself.

If you do use paypal, use a credit card...not your checking account.

Paypal won't let you use protection either unless the seller is verfied(bank account) withch that kinda sucks i think.

Here's a few precautions you should take.

Paypal will allow you to file a complaint which if you have not recieved your package you will refunded the $$$ if the seller does not send it or provide proof of sending within 10 days. However, there are a few flaws with this.

1) the seller only needs to provide a tracking number, then he's clear. He could ship you a magazine via ups or even usps and get away with it.

2)paypal takes a marginal fee for recovering your funds. I ordered rim's off a dsmtrader guy, never got them, cost 500, got 480 back via complaint process from paypal.

3) if the seller does not have a bank account linked to the paypal account, or if he does not have a balance in there, this isn't going to do anything for you.

The above posts were totally correct, make sure to use a credit card when making payments via paypal. Discover card (some MC and some VISA), will give you 0% loss on internet fraud. Some MC and VISA charge a $50 recovery fee.

Don't spend your paypal account balance (like money thats just in your paypal account), or from checking as you have no insurance that you will get money back if your ripped off.

On top of that DO NOT buy Paypal's Satisfaction Guarentee, its a scam... you will never get your $$$ even if you buy that... if you want me to explain lemme know.

Thats all for now,

Jim

Escrow is great, you get a certain window of "inspection" time to make sure that they sent you a legit part, and what it does is you give your money to the escrow company, who is trusted not to run away with it, they won't. Then the guy sends you your shit, you say its ok, and then escrow give him the cash.

I used it to buy my car, no problems at all. The only thing is it can be kind of expensive, but for me, it is worth being able to know that my money is safe. I would rather pay $415 and get the stuff I want, when I want, than pay $400 and not get anything.
