What black plastic? Theres the clear then the guages themselves. You just need to oull the guage faces off and then slide the new ones in. Just make sure to REALLY be careful with the guage needles when you take them off. Some are stuck good but you just have to pull hard. But DO NOT turn them it will mess up the needle positions. Atleast on the oil, fuel, and coolant. The speedo and tach are easily adjustable by moving them all the way to 0.

The boost gauge needle actually twists off I believe. That might be how I got my RPM needle off too. Just make sure you put them all back to where they should be when the car is off. If you are wondering about the black bezel still, just unclip all the little tabs, much like the clear, and just pull/pry it off.
