oh man, more choices!
So upon waking up a couple of weeks ago.
I decided I need to get rid of my car and go find another one.
I will make enough for either so that doesnt really matter, Only thing is insurance right now. Shitty that I'm under 25 still.
Would like some others opinions though, just to see what they are like, from a DSmers view point. Oh and the 2 cars, oh yeah...
2001.5 white or black Audi S4
or
1999 any color basically, BMW M coupe.
Both I'm looking at have between 60-85k miles. Both are about 16-19K in price. Another question, what do you guys think would be cheaper for insurance, before I go ask my agent and they find my new ticket....

Re: oh man, more choices!
Stay away from the S4 unless you have alot of money for maintanance. I was looking at exactly what you want, and the BMW came out on top. I did love the S4 interior but the BMW feel can not be beat. If your dead set on a S4, get a 2001.5 as you stated, because they have revisions, and will last longer. After all the research i just didnt want to deal with a twin turbo V6 with higher miles.
My insurance on my 95 M3 is around 90 bucks a month.

Evo FTW!! They can be had for under $20k now if you shop around!
A guy I work with just traded in a B5 S4 because there was too much maintenance that needed to be done to it. He had big turbos ready to strap on but was plagued by clutch, brakes, timing belt, and leaky differentials. Sweet car though!

If I were to ever get a German car, it would be a beemer for sure. Matter of fact, thats what I am aiming for when I get a new DD in another 3-6 years.

I vote for the M also. I have a M roadster and I love mine. The feel is solid and the engine just rev's to the moon.

Re: oh man, more choices!
Go with the M, my mom had a 99 blue M3 when I was younger and damn that thing was bad ass.
I'd say go with the s4 if it was the next generation body style the 2003's have.

most likely going with the S4. Its newer and Its AWD and has 4 doors and 4 seats. Both are extremely nice though.

Re: oh man, more choices!
Bah that generation of Audis might as well be a two seater anyways. My buddy has one and shit I love the car but I would never want to ride in the back for more than a twenty minute trip.

Re: oh man, more choices!
I've ridden in the back of an A4/S4 plenty of times, never was uncomfortable. That chassis was built to be a 4 door passenger car and it does that well, better than an Evo I would have to say.

Re: oh man, more choices!
I will never own a VW/Audi product. As stated above, they are way to expensive to maintain and have some fairly regular problems.
My vote would be for the BMW for sure, just like everyone else in this thread.

Re: oh man, more choices!
Audi has problems just like BMW has... Reliability is all in the maintanance.
My winter audi beater has held up for 3 years without much work at all. I was and still am considering getting a newer S4 with the V8. Drool.

I had a $1,000 down payment last winter on a black 2004 Audi S4 with every option available and only 13k miles on it. Was the V8, I figured I rather take the RS6 V8 engine just without the turbos and have 100 more hp and torque than the V6 biturbo and just eventually turbo it my self. However things didn't work out and I couldn't afford the car anymore, happened the day before I was going to pick it up was a kick in the nuts.
The 2004s have like 6 more inches of leg room in the back than the previous generations thats why I liked it, plus I think that body style is super sexy. Especially when you see one in person, they look so much smaller, lower to the ground, and more aggressive.
