Question Engine Rebuild options/opinions

My motor is in need of a rebuild. I was hoping that i could get some helpful suggestions from you all in what i should do, given my goals for the car.

I want to make my car a somewhat decent powered (summer daily driver), for me that means either EVO 3 16G or 50 trim or other 40-50 lbs/min flowing turbo.
I also would like this car to stay as reliable as possible. (If u have nothing positive to say about that last sentence, or at least in a nice way, STFU)

I was thinking just a stock rebuild for the car given my low powered goals. I would most likely take the car to a few track days both strip and maybe get into autoX/road racing. This car is basically to feed my need for speed and having a car to work on.

The car has 147k miles on it.

Current Mods:
DSMlink
550s (looking to upgrade)
Walbro 255 & Aero AFPR
EBC
3" turboback
FMIC w/2.5" piping
GR2s & Prokit springs
B16G
Alum. Radiator
Forge BOV
No A/C
Waiting to install (Next few weeks): Southbend clutch, ARP headstuds.

Thanks in advance, please let me know if more info is needed. I am not in any hurry for advice, so feel free to keep contributing to this thread as you think of new things.
It is 3:30am, so i am sure that i forgot something.

Thx again, much appreciated
Aaron

(oh, if possible, please throw out some ballpark figures for your suggestions)

Yep, a stock rebuild would be fine for you. I would probably eliminate the balance shafts and call it good.

Agreed. Rebuild everything with real Mitsu parts and you'll be fine.

If you have some extra money and you want a bigger safety net for yourself go for an Eagle/Weisco combo, otherwise with what you have listed, a fresh stock 6 bolt rebuild will suit your needs just fine.

Didn't we already do this once?
Stock will work for now, but when you go nuts and want more power, you will have wanted the forged goodies.

The circa 2001 combo. 2G pistons, 1G rods, bs elimination, all mitsu parts. Have the rods magafluxed and if it's in your budget, shotpeened.

If you're going to have the rods machined to fit 2G pistons and then shotpeened or whatever else, just pick up some eagles and be done with it. Just my $.02

Eagle/Wiseco combo will support good power and is a good price. I would say do it once, do it right.
