Question Number one thing you need on a road trip?

So I took a 10 hour road trip to Nebraska today for a family reuniun, and I was wondering what's the number one thing you would need to bring on a long trip like this?

If only one thing: A medium range high-cap select-fire weapon. Something that can do short work as well as do some talking from a bit farther out. I would say an MP5 would be about right. Get good with it, it makes trips easier.

That thing is a beast. Yeah, music is a huge part of everything I do, so I can see that being # 1.

Re: Number one thing you need on a road trip?

thats what i took and i was successful. Sirius would be the shit, but an iPod with about 8000 songs will do it too, just leave it on random.

Laptop. When I take trips, I always have my laptop and my Verizon Wireless Card. I can pickup internet signal wherever you get a cell phone signal. Plus, you bring a AC-Adapter and it charges your laptop from your cig lighter.

What more can you ask for? DSMStyle, Movies, Music, Porn, AIM... shit, I'm in heaven

Music, munchies and a little of what Chris mentioned.

A cell phone is obviously good thing to have for unexpected problems.

Re: Number one thing you need on a road trip?

After pondering this question while not drunk, I have decided a nice car is better than all the above mentioned things. I would much rather be driving a great car that I love to be in and have fun driving with nothing else at all than be in a beater with all the food, music, etc. in the world.

Well said Kracka, I like the thought behind that. I got lucky and baught my buddies 20 gig Ipod for 50 bucks before I left! So I've been pretty happy with that. All I've got is an Ipod, a cell phone, and a pillow and I'm good! The laptop would be kickbutt though!

Yup, I agree with tha kracka as well. I did a road trip down to Chicago on Wednesday and came back on Thursday. I drove myself the whole way there & back. I took a Volvo S80, most comfortable car I've ever driven. After the 6 hour drive, I worked for 4 hours straight, no problem--I wasn't tired or fatigued at all upon ariving. I think three things made the trip easy besides the car: ipod loaded up with a good mix, my valentine one in the windshield, and cell phone for when I got uber bored (toss in the bluetooth headset for good measure, since I was driving).

That makes talking much easier while driving, plus it seems a lot less distracting than actually holding a phone to your head.

Re: Number one thing you need on a road trip?

Definately get lots of music and moderate amounts of food and drinks. If I have lots I just sit and eat/drink, then you have to take more rest stops. I like the Valentine 1 idea too.
