Intercoolers

I am looking for a frontmount, does anyone have any suggestions? Not cheap just quality.
Has anyone heard of extremeintercoolers.com? Was thinking about their 10.5" hybrid core. oh yeah, i just want the core i will be making the piping myself.

Re: Intercoolers

I would look for a garrett core. They are really nice quality and are a little cheaper than the other high quality cores.

I know of a few locals running those intercoolers, including one of my own cars.

Re: Intercoolers

I got my core off of ebay, it looks great, i havent had the chance to pipe it up yet. (kinda funny because ive had the core for almost 2 years now.) the pipes are cut just need to be welded, its coming very soon, ill let everyone know how it goes.

Re: Intercoolers

I got mines off from ebay. $120! The core measure was 27x5.5x3
I think it looks pretty good because its bar and plate design and its shiny. The only downfall is that it is kind of small.

That picture was a while ago when I was installing it. Ill get pics of it fully installed for you tommorow.

Re: Intercoolers

I had an Apex core on my 1g. It worked, but I wasn't super impressed with it. For my 2G I didn't want to fuck around at all, so I called up Dave Buschur (buschurracing.com) the day I bought the car and ordered up this little puppy. I've been pleased ever since.

Crooked here, but you get the idea:

And this is a picture of 3 of us. All the intercoolers here were all custom piping and a no name brand intercooler.

Re: Intercoolers

I built my whole setup as well, but I'm very curious how you routed the drivers side piping going from the turbo to the inlet of the IC. Mine has to dip really low to the ground, and I don't like it like that. Do you have any other pictures or how you routed that side?

Re: Intercoolers

1g's work better with the pipes coming out of the back of the endtanks. 94taon, you NEED to get a bigger core to fill on that sexy opening in the eagle's bumper.

I just got my race core in the mail. 28x13x3 I think are the dimensions.
